Where can I get a barrel cut and threaded

I want to buy an IUR, the blemished ones from diemaco and get it cut down to 10.5 what's the best place to send it to?
 
You can't legally. Canadian laws says you cannot cut a centre fire semi-auto barrel to less than 18.5 inches.

Yes, I know your barrel would be starting out less than 18.5 to begin with. The rifle will be restricted either way.

Gun laws do not have to make sense.

Your only option would be to remove the existing barrel and replace it with a new one.

If you do that, I might be interested in your 15.7 in barrel.

Bolivar is correct. You can't legally shorten the barrel on a restricted firearm. Stupid but true.
Supposedly 15.7 is some magic length for accuracy, you may be making your rifle less accurate of you go with a different length.
 
Tough to get the barrel out of the Integrated Upper Receiver anyway but there is someone/company here in CGN that says they can do it if needed.

If I wanted a 10.5 shorty I would go a different route than a IUR. Maybe pick up a SA20 upper and switch the barrel out if you are wanting a CC upper, otherwise I would just build or buy a 10.5 upper. You should be able to find a Norc 10.5 upper in stock somewhere.

As stated earlier, not a good idea to be cutting down AR barrels, buy them at the manufactured length you want to keep out of trouble.
 
Any competent machine shop can do that job. It is however illegal. i would buy another barrel and upper before I cut that one. YMMV
 
The Modification of "firearms" i.e. cutting the factory barrel IS illegal. The IUR "upper", purchased as an upper, is not a firearm. It is a part. In the "eyes" of the law, the piece on the AR15 that makes it a firearm is the lower receiver. It has the serial# and the trigger group. This is also the beauty of buying a stripped lower. No barrel size is assigned to its serial#. Build it as you will. As long as it remains semi auto, it can't get any more restricted. Take this as you will.

“prohibited firearm” means

(a) a handgun that
(i) has a barrel equal to or less than 105 mm in length, or
(ii) is designed or adapted to discharge a 25 or 32 calibre cartridge,
but does not include any such handgun that is prescribed, where the handgun is for use in international sporting competitions governed by the rules of the International Shooting Union,

(b) a firearm that is adapted from a rifle or shotgun, whether by sawing, cutting or any other alteration, and that, as so adapted,
(i) is less than 660 mm in length, or
(ii) is 660 mm or greater in length and has a barrel less than 457 mm in length,
(c) an automatic firearm, whether or not it has been altered to discharge only one projectile with one pressure of the trigger, or
(d) any firearm that is prescribed to be a prohibited firearm;
 
calgary shooting center can rebarrel your iur. I think someone else here picked up a cc and swapped a stubby dd barrel on their IUR, and you can sell the 15.7 barrel.
 
So stupid our laws, I thought I knew our laws inside and out but you learn something new everyday.

That may be the best advice. Then you have a CC barrel too. I have a feeling the 15.7s will be around for a while. I the future I am guessing the IURs offered for civi sales may be more desirable to the civi shooter based on configuration.

I think I read that somewhere or heard a rumor. I honestly forget.
