If you were seeing them at any distance, they are just breaking up their outline to blend in with their background. It isn't meant for aerial cover. Also very lightweight and portable.

LOL. Not a "hide" by any stretch, just adding some cam to a shooting position.

I was lucky enough to play the civilian populace for a recce group in training this summer.

We spent a few great afternoons playing "spot the hide." Some were better than others.

Some of us were better at spotting than others, some of them were better at hiding than others.

And there's a big difference between the score using Mk1 eyeball, 8x binoculars, or handheld FLIR.

I'd call it a HASTY temporary hide. Something like that would be used for a target of opportunity and is by no means the or a proper hide.

Most likely shooting across a valley, judging by the terain. The enemy would never spot them if they didn't move.
