Let's see 'em. There must be some good examples of Bigfoot taxidermy out in CGN-land; come on, show them off. Full-size, shoulder mount, Euro-mount, rugs, whatever you've got...don't be shy.

I'd also be very interested in suggestions for a Bigfoot rifle. Choosing a gun for Bigfoot defense is probably pretty straightforward, but I'm specifically talking about a hunting gun. I'm starting to have a bit of a problem with the burgeoning Bigfoot population in my area, and so far I've been using whatever was handy to smoke one or two when they start to raid the birdfeeders or mess up my woodpile. I'm thinking that an actual Bigfoot hunt would be a nice change of pace from my usual winter Coyote hunting, so I'm open to suggestions for a gun/cartridge combo. I've been working up a wildcat by necking a .505Gibbs down to .17 caliber, but an alternative factory load would be nice to have.

I was going to start a separate thread for Bigfoot recipes as well, but we might as well put it all together in this one. Personally, I'm getting a bit bored with the old mushroom-soup slow-cooker thing, so I'm looking forward to some suggestions in this area.

Finally, what are you guys using for calling them in? I've had good luck using an old second-hand trombone with an extended slide handle and a birchbark moose call epoxied into the end, but I'd love to find a more compact option. All opinions are welcome.

Yes - all good topics and questions that haven't been raised. I have an essential piece of Bigfoot hunting equipment and will post a pic shortly. Your call sounds like a winner!

We believers would probably need to gather in person at least once, just so that we have a chance to size each other up and get to know one another.

If we do, we'll have to set a meeting place at some well-known public location. If the location is some out-of-the-way spot like somebody's house, then we'll never see Kelly there...he apparently can never find anything! :)

For hunting Bigfoot I would recommend FLIR goggles along with an AR style 308 loaded with Barnes TSX. I hear they are very sneaky so I would want a large capacity magazine for follow up shots on angry samsquantch's looking for revenge of their fallen comrade. Imagine sneaky and elusive Grizzlies that walk on their hind legs, bent on taking you out once you bag one.

As as for a call, you should try bringing along a yuppie, or Liberal and just taze him/her once in a while to make him/her holler. It might lure in a Bigfoot looking for a non-willing mate. You could then film the interaction before and during the kill shot.

Check around for a good taxidermist that has worked on these before, I hear repairing a Bigfoot cape is hard and even more so if it isn't skinned properly in the facial areas.

I myself wouldn't bother with the meat, it supposedly tastes a lot like a cross between mutton and rancid beaver. Just render down the fat and use it for hair cream.

Today I was talking with a fellow who was (still is) a FANATIC flyfisher. He recounted feeling watched while out of the Western edge of Haida Gwai, ie The Queen Charlottes. He said he had the feeling, but for his sanity did not allow him to look around and he hoped not to make eye contact. If it was a Sasquatch watching him drown flies, it would have been in the shadows behind cover. A Sasquatch hunter would need a cartridge that penetrate dense brush, foliage and branches without being deflected. I'd say at least as much gun as you'd use on a Kodiak brown bear.

Hey guys - I just checked my bigfoot trapping gear and I see that I sold my luring gear to Mike in Canmore. I will try to work up another set shortly. Can't believe I sold it but for top dollar, I could not say no. I posted my stuff on another forum that is loyal to the pursuit and had an instant answer from MiC. Whatcha goan do eh (with a nod to Kamlooky).
