I've been looking at the M&P9 shield, glocks and sig p229...also maybe a M9? Any other suggestions out there? Here in GA ccw is a must...I've been told that a snub nose .357 would be good too...

"Here in GA ccw is a must..."

You get charged in GA if your are not armed?

Glock 19. Maybe a J Frame S&W with +P .38. A .357 snub that's easily carryable will be hard to shoot well. If by M9 you mean a Beretta 92 that's a big pistol to carry.

Nah, you get robbed.

OP -if it was me, an M&P9C/45C or Shield, an airweight snub 38 (442) as a pocket gun - the airweight 357 snub is a painful, bruising, deafening gun to shoot with enough flash to kill your ability to see at night. Being Georgia though, you might be better off getting a couple of Glock 19's, one to carry and one to train with - then you have an excuse to go to Glock to have it cleaned and get some G swag. Oh yes, and please get yourself an Arsenal AK - just because you can.

glock 26 or 27 may be too small for me, I have mutant hands even the 1911 felt small in my hand...but the 19 or 17...maybe. In GA all the cool kids carry so...

glock 26/27 is small... two finger grab (no space for little finger) if you don't have mag extensions.

Errr, forgive me brother, but if everyone in Georgia carries for fear of being robbed, doesn't that just change the game for the "robber"? I mean if he thinks the odds are good he'll get shot plying his trade, and he has no option but to rob, wouldn't the criminal element in Georgia just take wallets from corpses? (along with whatever carry gun the corpse was carrying before the heart stopped.)
Really weird problem for us Canadian's to understand. (the gun violence, not the gun or the carry aspect) We just don't see it here.

ive been to atlanta a couple times and never got robbed. everyone was actually really nice, even the guys that looked like thugs. lol

Definitely a G19 in a IWB holster. 15rd cap. Get a high viz front sight, FO or Tritium, doesn't matter, and blacked out rears.
If you carry a .357 snub, just load .38Spl +P ammo. Shooting +P from a J frame is probably worse than shooting .357 from a 2-3" snubbie. I have a 3" .357 and mine is MagNaPorted so full load .357 are ok. I still wouldn't want to shoot them all day out of a K frame.

How bout this:

I dont mean to be too direct but, It's hard to understand only if you stand on a soap box and pretend it dosent happen there too...I lived in montreal for 40 years...it was worse than here. A lot of stabbings...shootings..a guy even got killed by a bunch of people with axes...crazy. Over here, The incidents that do occur here are always after the bars close or around 1-4 am and downtown. People dont really get mugged...but shot because they got in an argument over some BS.

The random mass killings are the problem and CCW helps for that...People view CCW as a duty...a responsibility...you wont see anyone with a ccw pull out his pistol with a damn good reason...its sacred.

AAAAnyhowww...I think I will go for an M&P shield....
