Spend my money for me... Need a .375cal rifle for dangerous game

Need help deciding, or even trying to figure out what is available to me for rifles.

The caliber is flexible as .375 goes;

375 h&h
375 ruger
375 RUM

I just can't seem to find a decent rifle that's accurate, quick to shoulder, decent iron sights and under $2500. I'm a huge fan of blue on wood and kind of hate the stainless+plywood stock
 
A used Brno 602 or a new CZ 550 would be close to the top of the heap, with a 6 round magazine capacity, express sights, and walnut and blue. Perhaps more appropriate for North American conditions, a Ruger Alaskan is shorter, lighter, quicker, and equally effective. A Winchester M-70 is a good bet, and if the budget is tight, don't overlook the Weatherby Vanguard which comes in .375 H&H with irons. Lots of good choices under $2500.
 
I am a big fan of the .375 H&H. It is my DG rifle (CZ 550 with Warne QD rings). Ammo is available everywhere there is DG to be found. Should be able to put good quality optics on and still stay in your budget.

For me this would be the answer. You could buy the rifle and partially customize it for your budget. Sights from NECG, refinish stock with new pad plus recut checkering etc - or maybe even a new, plain grained stock.
 
I like the Ruger RSM but they can be a touch heavy in 375 H&H. You might also find a nice Sako (older one, not a 75/85/A series) which would be a nice rifle. The one Douglas has is a beauty and probably feeds slick as snot.
 
My Ruger RSM is an easy shooting and accurate rifle. Heavy though. I would be tempted to buy a Kimber Caprivi or a AHR customized CZ550. My brother has the AHR and it is very well built and handles like a dream for such a big rifle.
 
Heavy is a matter of perspective. I had a friend shoulder my RSM followed by a Remington 700 and the 2.5lb difference between the two wasn't noticed. That said, I have yet to climb a mountain with the Ruger and likely would choose something lighter should I ever decide to do so.
 
I would highly recommend a Ruger RSM. My RSM is accurate and is comfortable to shoot. Im hoping to get one in 416 Rigby and 458 Lott. My next would be a CZ 550 American Safari. I had one in 458 Win Mag. Id buy another in a second! If You can find a nice RSM You won't be disappointed.

Try walking 20 miles in Africa. Heavy becomes a matter of reality then.

My RSM is the much cooler 416 Rigby. But I digress...
 
Not a dangerous game fellow, but...is the OP talking Africa? He didn't really say did he?
Wouldn't Africa narrow it to H & H just on ammunition availability?
Because if he's hunting bear in North America, then any of the chamberings would suffice, no?

H&H would probably be safer but you just never know what you'll find laying around in camp. I used the 375 Ruger on my 2010 trip to Zimbabwe.
