10 mm auto dead?

Fusion match barrel and bushing, 22 - 24 lbs recoil spring, metal form 10mm mags, Heinie rear sight, Fusion fiber front sight. Most everything ordered from Fusion. Very fun and cheap 10mm!

Yup, alive and well in my world as well.....as mentioned it fizzled out quick for law enforcement due to recoil having too much negative affect.... It's a great round and loaded to its full potential (not available in factory ammunition) is a pretty stout little number. Reloading components are readily available so no problem at all to jump in to this caliber.
I'm a 1911 guy all day long, however for good value and a comfortable gun to shoot in this caliber the Glock is a solid platform.

Now if Colt would do a redo on the Delta and update it to today's standard of even mid-range 1911 features, it would be the 10mm to have.

I guess if you want to change back to the 40 then that is the way to go.

I learned a while ago ramped is the way to go, especially interchanging top ends. I found the non-ramped factory barrel from my Delta bulged brass, and my match grade barrel on my other didn't do it much. Still wouldn't try max loads with either. What a difference in the ramped barrel though.

Hate brass that comes out of a Glock though, need to resize it all the time.
Love my sig too

I just got the advantage arms .22 kit. Is it merely a change of slide or do you have to change anything else?

Cheers,
Jim

Yup! Just pull your slide then run the new slide assembly on. Taking it off is almost as easy, just need to make sure the pistol is not cocked..I bought a 22 snap cap so I can dry fire it then pull the AA slide.

Love 10mm. Reload with 800x and it packs a punch. In a carbine, the 10mm is great and the recoil is more than you would expect. This is a serious round, but if you reload you can use less powder for a softer shooting experience.

I think the 10mm should be chosen for the new US army pistol. There could be 3 or 4 loadings for users that are in non-combat roles, accountants, etc. Real troopers who really need a big punch in a big hurry can depend on the 10mm to address a threat within 50 meters. Getting clipped with a 10mm full power round inside 50 years will take the fight out of any enemy.

Sig is introducing a new 10mm and there are others as well. Part of this is the search for something new (for many shooters) and exotic. Hopefully, the ammo manufacturers will recognize this market and provide various power loadings at volume pricing.

Yes, shooting the reloaded 10mm is the way to go. You know you have something special then

Shooting factory 10mm and 40 are pretty much the same experience.

Only American Eagle and some defence ammo is equivalent to 40. Standard Remington and Hornady is a definite step up. Other stuff on the market (Federal vital shock, Sig, Buffalo Bore, Double tap) is closer to what was originally intended. Too bad the heavy stuff is so difficult to come by up here but as others say, 10mm is more a reloaders proposition.

Awesome round!!! Unfortunately, it's really pricey if you don't reload and can be a little hard to find.
Definitely a reloader's cartridge and a dream to shoot with cast lead.

190 grain hollow point....
Mihec 10mm mould and powdercoated in Harbor Freight red.

My 2 pet loads I like

Hornady 155 grain JHP, 8.5 grains IMR 4756, 1,300 fps

Hornady 180 grain JHP, 7.5 grains IMR 4756, 1150 fps

I can't get 10mm locally but it is attainable online. It's expensive but what do you do, I love my Kimber Eclipse.... Places sell new starline brass so you can always reload.
