Never expected this preformance from norinco ammo. 500 meters with my rem 700 VTR, I fired a shot it fell a few feet short of my 18x18"target so I started walking it in and cranking it up as I went till I got to 5moa and I hit a 4"three shot group in the middle. That was with 147gr norinco copper jacket lead core. I then switched over to advantage ammo doubletap loaded with 165gr nosler accubonds... Those fell 2' short and 2' to the left of the target. I would have thought a 165gr boattail in a hotter round would travel at least as flat if not flatter farther then a 147gr lead core spitzer??

Zero not always the same for different ammunition, especially when you start changing bullet weight.

Trajectory testing needs to be done with targets at two different distances using the same zero and same loading.

It's zeroed with norinco 147gr at 100 yards 1/2 moa is my avg. I suppose it all comes down to what I have it zeroed with.. A few of the guys noticed it's working really well with the norc.

Actually this isn't that uncommon.... I have had two Remington's (308 and 223, and my buddies xcr) that shoot moa or even a little under out to around 300 m with the copper 308 and surplus 223... After that it's awful.

This is speaking accuracy wise, other than that, it's a trajectory coincidence

I was using the Norinco copper washed 308 ammo in my rem 700 at one of Tactical Teachers precision clinics as I wasn't reloading yet .
He was making fun of me until he saw how well it shot. :)

We only went back to 600 yards , I have had a few light primer strikes with it but it shoots well for cheap surplus .
I gave one of the patches to Barney (TacticalTeacher) and one to 45ACPKing ( M14Doctor ) :d

I'm the forwarding his email and posting pics for thread originator ( Tula) .
The newest member and firm believer in the accuracy of TEAM NORINCO PLINKO !!
I think the good groups are because of the great scope on his rifle that I just traded with him ..lol

From Tula
This is through my ruger m77 mk1 after I had it aluminum piller bedded and floated and the trigger rebuilt, before rebuild and after rebuild targets, shot at 100 yards with norinco 7.62. I say take that all to all the norinco ammo haters out there.

Top two targets are with my ruger m77 mk1 before and after Sam Adams aluminum piller bedded the action tossed away the useless center reciever screw and rebuilt the trigger, and floated it. The barrel passed his quality test, the bottom two is my Remington VTR and my zeroing target after setting above mentioned traded scope up. All cartridges used for this were tested for trueness and balance, and all were 147gr spitzer lead core norinco 96.
