COMPETITION RULES (SIMPLE / EASY)
----------------------------------------------------------
Edited to Add: A lot of AR15 and bolt action dudes want to shoot this fun match SO you guys are going to get your own classification. AR15's and bolt guns will be shooting against other AR15's or bolt guns - too simple. Everyone else gets put in the same classification.

Class 1 Vintage: VZ-58 (stock), M305, M1A, AG42, VZ-52/57, SKS / M1 Carbine, M1 Garand, SAFN, AK47 (stock), etc
Class 2 Modern: AR15 / TAVOR / Swiss Arms / XCR / FAMAE 542 / T97 / SL8 / TRICKED OUT AK47 / VZ58 / SKS / Other (see below)
Class 3 All Bolt Guns

VINTAGE: Rifles as issues to the infantry soldier - No significant modifications are permitted.

TRICKED OUT RIFLES May have (but not limited to): Any red dot / optical sights, extended mag release, modified stocks, magwell modifications, etc... There is a grey area around tricked out Vintage platforms but essentially any Vintage semi-auto that has been modified beyond what a would have been used by the infantry soldier is modified and 'tricked-out'.

If in doubt about about the eligibility or classification of a particular rifle please send me a PM.
----------------------------------------------------------
All shots are unsupported, no rests or bi-pods (use of a carrying sling as a hasty sling is OK). Distance to target 100 yards/meters.

Course of fire is 20 rounds: 5 rounds standing, 5 rounds kneeling, 5 rounds prone, 5 rounds sitting. Mandatory reload with five round charger/magazine/stripper clip between each position change.

Time is calculated from first shot fired to last shot fired.

Please shoot this challenge with an SKS or similar rifle/carbine (vz 52/57, M1 carbine, M1A / M305, VZ.58, 7.62x39 AK, etc.) Bolt action mil-surp rifles are welcome too. If in doubt about about the eligibility of a particular rifle please send me a PM.

Score is 5 points per shot on a 8 inch diameter circle, bullets that cut the perimeter of the circle count as hits, bullets outside the circle are misses.

Points on target divided by time in seconds times 100 = score.

The challenge ends January 31 2016. The winner will receive bragging rights only.

Please post a link to the video of your entry.

You can use this target below if you wish. It should be 8" if you have "Fit to Page" unclicked in printer properties.

GOOD LUCK!

If I get to the farm this month Ill give her a try. Is a vz still vintage with nr barrel and wood furniture?

Cool,

Can I use the 8 round enblocks on my Garand? it would cut off one reload...

There are 5-round enclock clips out there to address this issue but I will allow it.
You will need to either set the rifle down at some point or raise the muzzle towards the sky (while empty) and do a 360 turn while loudly saying "MAPLE LEAF UP" to make up for the time differential though.....

Never did this last year, so not sure if this is what you want but here goes. This is with a restricted bone stock M1 Carbine.

I had it timed at 138 seconds from first shot to last. And the target with 13 hits for 65 pts for a total score of 47. Does this sound correct? Is it the right way to score it?
Please note that I was the only one on the range or at the gun club during this performance.

I may have to back out of the challenge. Went up today to give my cz a 100m test and before hand we fired a few reloads for other guns. Neighbor shows up complaining that we have fired "14 rounds" and that he has the right to peace and quiet. To shut him up we decided to cut back on the shooting, which meant my 58 stayed in her case. I'm hoping to get up there and get her done before the 31st but I have no clue if it will materialize. Only neighbor that has issues with us shooting, everyone else joins us.

I had a malfunction on the 18th round while prone, so I only got 19 shots off... ill hopefully be able to get out and give it another attempt without a malfunction messing me up.

T97NSR with Vortex sparc II

69 seconds - 9 shots on target

total points - 65

Hmm, might have to give this a try once I make it out to the range. Thinking of donning the show shoes with all the snow we have been getting.

I love it! Skis is coming out into the woods, I may need a few practice rounds.. Like a lot of practice rounds with the stripper clips lol.

OK here goes - Went out last week - took me this long to figure out how to get video off an I-something and on YouTube...

Since shooting with an 8 round Garand, Riflechair assigned a exercise to make up the time from the lost reload.

My gun oil didn't like the weather, and Too bad my shooting sucked! Great fun though. Here is the target

9 hits *5 points/145 seconds = 31.....Arghh

Check your Municipal Noise By-Law, you should be good if shooting in regular daylight hours. You don't have to be a #### about it to your neighbor, but at the same time he may not have the right to tell you what to do on your land.

MAPLE LEAF UP!
HA HA HA HA
That's the hardest I've laughed all day

Lots of guys are printing a score of 9 hits so far.
Seems to be a threshold number.
The winner will probably just be the quickest time.

Well done to both you and Shawn!
