In 5.56. all I can say is wow those things are accurate compared to my sks. I was hitting shot gun shells at 30 yards quite easily with iron sights. nice gun

There is no comparison between a vz and an sks. The 5.56 mm vz58's are indeed accurate.

If any rifle is shooting a ten inch group at 100 yards, there is something wrong with it. I would take it to a gunsmith to get checked out.

Check if your rear sight is loose. Mine was loose on my gun and it resulted in poor accuracy like that until I got it fixed.

Something is wrong with your gun, or your technique.

Wouldn't go as far to say it's his technique if he is getting 4" with an SKS.

10" with a 858 suggests you are closing the wrong eye.

Yeah with my last russian sks I was doing 2" at 50 meter all day along. The target was a simple 2" by 2" black square target printed on a 8.5"x11" paper. That was before it started shooting burst... and no it was not a slamfire the trigger would just sometime let the hammer go after a shot which is very dangerous if you don't expect it. Now my new sks is doing 3" at 50 yards... but the action was loose in the stock.

In reality pics of a target on the internet don't really prove anything so it's more or less always based on the honour system.

To the point of the OP I agree the VZ58 can be quite accurate and I for one am quite happy with the accuracy of my sloppy chamber 556 semi automatic military sporter.
