I wouldn't worry too much. My NEA1512### has over 11,000 rounds through it and hasn't had an issue. The very first batch (November/December 2011) had really heavy triggers but by early 2012 (second batch) when I got mine they had replaced them.

My stripped lower would not take Pmags, or any other mag for that matters. I did send it in and they did give me a new one. Not machine the old one out, but a brand swanky new one.
Now I think the upper is out of speck. There is just too much of a gap between the two pieces.

Have no fear, it's not done yet. What I find interesting is how NEA rifles are now as dangerous as an IED...truth is either my google fu is pathetic or NEA caused carnage is pretty rare. I'm not ignoring the known problems, but some of you are getting lazy...looks like you are cutting and pasting from one thread to another.

When someone gets it in their head that something sucks, its hard to get it out. Same with cars. Still can't get my dad to admit Ford is ok nowadays.

Oh I didn't know the exact cause of the failure had been attributed to the rifle yet. Last I looked it was over pressure round. And wasn't the rifle an old version sold as a newer gen? Anyways it's still the same thing, just write NEA in a thread and a couple of people will automatically appear, copy pasting at the ready with the same old crap as 5 years ago. or 4 years ? Meh...
Nope the recent failure was a barrel extension that came apart and a broken cam pin, the barrel extension was one of the few NEA parts that hadn't failed in the past, AFAIK. Once a buffer tube fails, I think that will be every single part manufactured at NEA has failed at one time or another. But what can you expect ? junk is junk after all.
It takes time to get consumer confidence back. I for one had my crooked barrel experience with NEA just over 6 months ago.
Imagine if 5 years after Ford Pintos started blowing up, they still hadn't issued a recall or ceased production. Just kept churning them out, and having them out there potentially injuring people. Would you still be defending Ford?
p.s. I don't really have any ill will towards them. They did make it right after I made a warranty claim. If in another 5 years we're not seeing any more bi-weekly "my NEA broke" threads, I might give them another shot. But for now, buying Canadian for me means buying Colt Canada. I just with they'd release some parts individually so I wouldn't have to part out so many rifles.

I'm fairly certain there was one where it went too far into the receiver and caused issues with the trigger assembly.

Man some of you guys just blow my mind...something failed, what, and why are not clear. What we have is a few pictures, not even a detailed description of the event (I just went through the thread, but I could have missed it).
The guy stated he's being looked after, let it go, once he has it back then you can start tossing out assumptions...might even know the actual reason by then.
