ATRS Modern hunter specs, pics and range reports

Got to shoot mine for the first time. Didn't have much time, only shot 20 rounds of fed gold. It was flawless.
Wife loved it as well.

So I think it going to go grizzly bear hunting In the spring up along the BC Alberta border !
I know wear a big heathy male hang out and I figured if I keep my shot under 75 yards my MH will work grate
I have to get a bear and carve ceremonial bear mask for the kids at the Elementary school in Old Massett and what a way to Break the Cherry on my MH 338 fed!
Any one know off sum good recipes for cooking grizzly bear

Can I ask what the upper alone cost?

-J.

It was about $2000 for the complete upper
I want to warn you guys That plan on hunting with MH do not get the heavy barrel it is impossible to shot accurately off hand and just way to heavy to pack a round !
I have to get a new 6.5CM light barrel for my MH I hate the heavy barrel I have right now

Thx for the info.

I'm reassured by your comments about the light barrel. I spent the cash for the CFW barrel, and now I'm glad I did.

Is that around 2000$ with a CFW or light stainless barrel?

Second uppers are $1900 for a base model upper. This means the DPMS free float handguard, no bolt carrier (since your current bolt carrier is interchangeable), and a stainless steel barrel and gas system included. Threading the barrel and muzzle brakes are extra. This price is not set in stone the same as the value of our dollar is not set in stone, it just sinks like it is.

There is definitely an effect on accuracy with the light barrel. I found mine doesn't shoot as well. Not sure if anyone else with a light barrel is getting moa or less?

my light profile barrel shoots MOA so long as you let it cool properly, thats where a heavy barrel is advantageous, you can take more shots before heat starts to shift the point of impact (this can only be 3 or 4 shots on a light barrel). I had this discussion with Rick before choosing my barrel profile and a light profile will be as accurate as a heavy, the only difference is heat.

taken from an email between Rick and I:
Accuracy will not differ with barrel contour only the number of shots until heat deflection starts to move POI.

I have to send in 6.5 CM upper wen I get home if I can afford a 6.5CM carbon fiber barrel to replace the heavy Barrel I have now
How much is it to get carbon fiber Barrel and have it Switch out ?

The 338 federal upper with a thin stainless steel barrel I suspect it will be about 2 MOA rifle but for a hunting Bush rifle that is excellent as long as shots are under 200 yards and for moose and bear ther is no Real reason to shoot past that
The 6.5CM I have higher standards and Biger expectation for that upper with a Point blank range of 350yards
