lets see your thick bush guns!

<voice of comic book guy>

Worst. YouTube video of multiple Grizzlies being gunned down each season with a 4 1/4" 454 Casull revolver. Ever. (Which is what the little meter was about, not your competency with a firearm)

But anyway, that's some fine lever shooting. I "draw" the same way with a semi, but would be hard pressed to put as many in the plate as fast as you do with your lever. Nicely done. And if I were to try that with my model 88, well, I'd probably toss the rifle like a baton over Smokey's head. (Might distract him just long enough to soil myself) :p

I'm back from church now so I'll follow up...

Thanks for the compliment KJ I'll have to respond with another vid lets see how you BS meter works with it.

Not a live bear just shooting at a target again with top 45 Colt loads and top 454 Casull loads with the SRH in 454 Casull.

My wife drew the target so no laughing... :)

You are doing a better job of side-tracking this thread than your shooting ability..

Will inject a pic of the scout.... It's exactly what I bought it for....

More likley to be charged by a cow then a bear. People that are obsessed with bear defense #### spend more time in front of the computer then the bush.
. . .

Sometimes it pays to be alert.

This looked just like a big patch of caribou moss . . .

In reality . . .

When we disturbed this guy, unbeknownst to us, he had a whale carcass nearby, I thought my luck had run out and he was going to come. I had my .44 Vaquero and a plan, but the best I could hope for was to ensure my wife got to the truck. Once these things start, you never really know how they'll end . . .

Boomer whenever I see your polar bear pics it reminds me of a book/novel I read years ago when I was still a teenager about a Canadian Eskimo it was a true story titled "I Nuligak".

What I remember most about the story is Nuligak was given a single shot rifle chambered in the new for the time high powered 22 short round he would go out and hunt polar bears with his cannon he would shoot them between the shoulder blades.

Better him than me . . . I was wishing I had my .458. I wonder if Nuligak's story was written postoumously. I wouldn't entertain the notion of pestering one of these guys with my .223 loaded with TSXs, never mind a .22 Short.

I found the book though . . .

The story apparently takes place when whites first made contact with the Inuit of Herschal Is, I bet its a good read.

Anyway back to some sweet pics.

This may be the case where you are. But I have never been charged by a cow in the bush and I`ve seen a bunch. Not saying it couldn`t happen, just that it hasn`t.

Where as, where we hunt we have had large cranky boar black bears looking for a taste of calf, come in to our cow calls quite a few times.
And we run into them on the trail quite a few more.

Not to mention a friend of mine was mauled by a black bear while bow hunting and is lucky to have survived.

There have been a number of other people mauled by black bears in this area as well.

So for me, I would rather have a decent firearm with me when in the bush around here.
