I'm thinking of buying a 22 cal handgun just for plinking. Would like to know what would be the best bang for the buck?

I own a MKIII, and haven't tried a buckmark, but I keep hearing that the buckmark is a better gun out of the box if you don't plan to put upgrades into them.

My choices:

-Beretta 71
-Walther PPQ M2 - 5" barrel
-GSG/Sig 1911
-S&W Mp22

i know ruger and buckmark are the best...but just dont like how they look at all...

Was looking for something just to improve grip and trigger control. At work we use a h&k p2000. And I suck shooting with it. want to improve a bit and well have fun :)

My view as well on the Ruger & Buckmark, probably better for dedicated target shooting and accuracy, but the others are nicer & more fun for plinking.

buying the a h&k p2000 with a conversion kit would have been a good idea but i dont think it exist. Grab a ppq m2 (or mp22) they are "close" (at least polymer handguns) of your p2000. But the best way to improve your grip and trigger control with your p2000 is...buying a p2000 and ammo...

If you want to improve your grip & trigger control for a larger cal pistol, find something similar, eg; a GSG 1911 if you shoot a 9mm or 45 cal 1911.

Your problem is the shyte double action only on the P2000... Most .22s are going to have trouble replicating that, so I'd steer you towards a revolver to assist with develop your abilities (as they're DA as well). Worked for our guys out here in Pacific!

A revolver in 22 will be a really good training tool for finger control.. nothing flying around that does not need to.

This/\ A .22 double action revolver (any caliber really) is best shooting "trainer". Do not #### your DA hammer, always shoot in DA. By shooting always in DA, you will improve your trigger finger strength and muscle memory and guarantee that you learn correct trigger control and the all important flinch control. I think flinch is a mental thing, but muscle memory is a big part of flinch control, IMO.
