Gophers

I'm hoping to see some this year. PM's with directions would be greatly appreciated if you're willing to share. Sadly I don't make it out very often with a toddler and a newborn. But once they get old enough I'm looking forward to sharing this great sport with them. Two more shooters in the making.

Head towards the Finnegan Ferry, you'll find lots there.

I saw my first one this year at the Lethbridge Fish & Game shooting range at the end of January. Cocky little bugger, considering the time of year and location.

There are some in my neighbourhood running around (Lethbridge). The fellow who owns the land has a giant gopher patch in the neighbourhood but we can't shoot them as it is zoned residential and within city limits. He doesn't want to poison them either. Some days when you walk by there...

Oh, man... Unless there's a late frost and die off, that means this year will be a target rich environment.

Excuse me a moment while I go check my ammo stockpile...

Use to use double bubble, and mass amounts of minute rice, they both plug them up until they never come out of the den again.

I could care less, I don't live close to the fellow's land. If I was in the housing close by I would probably poision those little buggers on my land because they really rip up the ground. Apparently, the city has a deal with the owner that once he kicks off the land will be sold for development. The neighborhood is pretty weird as houses are going up around his lot and he has horses and a bunch of run-down out buildings smack in the middle of the development. It looks funny as hell and the gophers are just teeming around his lot.

With the abnormal weather here I have been keeping an eye peeled but so far nothing.

Is there a prize for first kill of year?

Pics, sworn witness and signed by a notary public or it didn't happen.:p
