if you could only have one...

For me a Nighthawk, because my pal has one, and its the nicest smoothest 1911 Ive ever had the pleasure of shooting. It has nice easy to use sights and gave me the best groups.

I have yet to fire my Norinco NP-29 but for the money i am extremely happy with it, better quality than i had expected a real solid unit. Just gotta see how she operate's!

Norincos have come a long way, believe it or not. I've got an NP-29 with a very good fit and finish. And after 500 rds or so, it's quite accurate and reliable.

STI Rangemaster 9mm. Never tried one, but I like STIs and I think the full-length frame would make it super soft-shooting.

Nighthawks are wonderful pistols, though.

It doesn't get a whole lot better than this and sorry it's a 2011:

I started with an STI 9mm Trojan but it wasn't 100% reliable, it wasn't as soft shooting, it was slower to reload and it wasn't as accurate. So for me I can't think of a better 3-gun handgun than this nighthawk doublestack in 9mm.

Light weight, reliable, accurate and powerful Glock 21 .45 Auto, 3rd Gen with factory night sights and Streamlight M3X Tactical Illuminator, 13+1 capacity of +P 230 gr. JHP, IWB concealed holster with double mag pouch.

Glock 21 .45 Auto all the way.

I shot my best group with a handgun with a pal's STI Trojan in 9mm. What a sweet piece of kit. I know they are sacreligious these 1911's in anything but 45, but man it felt good to "sin" with that gun. :)
