DA50 50 BMG 32" Upper Receiver....thoughts?
.50 Cal ain't cheap, so I don't mind the single shot bolt action for $1700 as oppose to a 6,7 or even 10K rifle.
With a really cheap lower since you don't need the bolt open and it requires a proprietary hammer, you've got a .50 Cal for under $2300.00

It's a cheap way to get into 50bmg and get away from the platform being restricted on an AR lower. There are cheaper ways to get into single shot 50bmg, but not many.

Are you saying that this upper with an AR lower is NR?
At the time of buying the lower you'd have to register it! Perhaps I miss understood!

No. I'm saying that an AR lower is always restricted.

And that the ATRS lower is non restricted because it doesn't fit AR uppers, and the 50bmg upper has to be modified to fit the ATRS lower so that it won't fit on an AR lower.

Right!! They said there is an NR lower in the works but no ETA as of yet.
What would the other options be if I may ask?

Atrs makes it now. It is for sale now and you can order until the end of the month. After that they won't be making more. Buy the upper, ship to Atrs and they do the mods to the upper and supply the lower.

There is a single shot 50bmg introduced at this years shot show. But not many others for around the 1000 buck mark.

The Atrs and Canam is not 1000 g though either.

I find it laughable when people say this. If you can't afford a proper .50 bmg, how are you going to be able to afford to feed it? It won't take long for the cost of ammo to eclipse the cost of the rifle.

I would think that would hammer the crap out of your lower attach pin holes, metal there isn't very thick and two small pins taking a hammer like that every shot???

Yeah/no?

There are other recent threads on the DA50

I've got one - over 100 rounds thru last summer and love the thing. An economical way to get to know the legendary .50 BMG. Still blows my mind to watch my RCBS Chargemaster powder dispenser run and run as it drops well over 200 grains of powder to propel a 647 or 750 grain projectile.

When mounted on a regular AR-15 lower, this is a restricted firearm. Fortunately, my range is rated for the .50 but only out to 400 yds...
