10.5 barrel Retro commando style build

Here's one XM177E2 with the fun switch and the 11.5" barrel. Some parts were replaced but you get the general idea. It has an extremely small charging-handle and the rate of fire is super slow (maybe because the original flash hider is missing?).
It's in a military vault somewhere and it does get used a lot, so that's pretty cool. The barrel is extremely worn out but it's still kicking strong.

XM177 original parts are very hard to come by, I just found my minty original vinyl coated Colt NN 1 marked butt stock.
Perhaps have Retroarmsworks.com modify an exportable barrel or create one from a blank? Then get it imported to Canada.
Sad that no one in Canada seems to be willing to turn lightweights. I asked Dlask about a lightweight a few years back and he claimed that he couldn't make a barrel with a .625" FSB lol. I can't recall his exact reasoning but just figured he didn't give a s@&t.
Brownell's now sells A1 and A2 FSB for a paltry $20.

I've always liked the looks of the triangle grips. Where did you get them and any idea if they would fit on my 10.5" LMT? I'm not much of an "AR guy/builder"…just like shooting them.

This is what I have so far, I am a few parts short gas tube, nice grey charging handle, and a suitable bolt carrier.
I have a parked SP1 carrier but I would like to find a chrome carrier.
This one will make a nice companion to the slick side 20" upper I completed a little while ago.
Did you get the short A1's from Gunny's ?

Can always buy it and import it through a broker. There will be some here.
Looking good so far. That extra half inch makes a big difference in looks. Oh well, we use what we've got available. I'd be tempted to have it turned down to .625 at the FSB and have a new A1 FSB installed. Just doesn't look right with .750". Whack off the bayo lug while you're at it.
Young Manufacturing make chrome slickside carriers and their quality is supposed to be top notch. No idea if they're registered for export though.
