North Eastern Arms

Hello CGN members.

I was hoping that I could find some reviews/opinions on the North Eastern Arms AR15 platform. I have done the standard youtube/google searches but there is not a whole lot of information by those who have seen or used them out there. I am fairly new to the shooting world and am looking to add an AR15 to my toy trunk.

A lot of them have a lot of problems especially with the bolt carriers. I personally wouldn't consider getting one.

The don't have a very god reputation on CGN because of poor quality control in their early guns and poor marketing practices (shilling) here on CGN. Some have reported that their newer guns are much better quality and a decent buy. but many wont give them the time of day anymore because of past transgressions. I don't have personal experience because the only NEA product I've owned, a stripped lower, was sold before I completed it.

I am glad that I was told about this place and joined. Thanks for the information. I will have to research other options. What recommendations would the members have for an ar15 in and around $1000 all in.

There were issues off the start but they *seem* to be resolved with the gen 2+ up models.

I have a Wyndham Weaponry AR, and its been flawless, not one problem of any sort.

Turn the other way and run fast. The customer service sucks! Lots of better options out there with better CS. With this being a Canadian company, they should be kissing our a$$, not blowing us off which happen to me a few years ago. After that, I swore I would never own anymore of there products. So far, I have kept my promise.

It's not a good policy to not support their Canadian base unless the are courting the U.S. market only

I built my AR using mostly NEA components and never had any problems.

X2, well, everything forward of the barrel nut (barrel, gas tube and muzzle brake all NEA). Put 200 rounds through it yesterday, flawless. But yeah, get ready for some borderline racist comments towards NEA.

Being a Canadian Company is what grabbed my attention initially and has had me looking at their products. I believe in investing in homegrown when possible but only if it makes sense. I'm hoping to use the experience of others to avoid a poor purchase on my first attempt.

The first gen NEA are horrible from what heard and the Second gen ones are pretty good.
