Norinco or DA M305 SOCOM?

I thought the chinese m14s had metric threads as opposed to the standard m14 imperial threads. If the DA18 has the proper .595x32, I'll definitely be buying another m305.

They are the standard M14 muzzle device size threads. They're oddball in the sense that it isn't a typical thread pattern that you could just buy a tap/die for. Closest would be 19/32-32, but thats a few thou too small.

Thats interesting. Are the rest of the threads on the gun imperial as well?

My Norcs and Poly's in the past all had metric threads including the muzzle threads where the castle nut goes. If they've made the switch to imperial threads, this must mean USGI threaded components will fit on the DA18s.

it really would be awesome if you could get some DA M305s in with a maple leaf stamped on the receiver

if they come in and price point is 500 bones... I would get one right now... Awesome look, amazing fun rifle ! COUNT ME IN !

Not a chance they're coming at $500 considering that was when the dollar was roughly par. Particularly since the quality is considered higher than the standard M14's.

Here is my SOCOM 18 sporting re-finished Chinese wood, and a USGI vented handguard and sling. I bought the rifle in the first batch from CanAm - This rifle is Fantastic!

Plenty of vendors no longer stock shorties because of the trouble with em. The SOCOMs and the shorties are different animals.

No, they were brought in a few years ago, and are relatively rare on the new market, but they obviously appear on the EE. The quality of these is reported to be higher than average. The price is higher as well. The one I am selling generated quite a bit of interest. Ultimately, I went with a local and it'll be transferred tomorrow.
