Where is all the good .22LR these days?

Seems like every time I go to a store there is only Winchester standard, or Remington Gold, or some Blazer crap. In younger days we would go gopher hunting in the coulies of southern Alberta and had all kinds of ammunition choice: Remington Yellow Jackets, CCI Mini Mags, all kinds of hyper velocity stuff that were very effective through my 10/22. The best gopher round I ever found was a Ruko 37g HP - I don't remember where it was made (Czech I think), but it would have spectacular impact energy on gophers and was very accurate.

Where did it all go?

If you are near London ON try Bullseye ( sponsor) they have had a good range of 22 LR. over the past 2 years and I have been able to buy several thousand rounds of decent ammo like Federal Champion, MIni Mag, Aguila (a little dirty), CCI tactical and American Eagle as well as Federal Auto Match. Lots of choice, no restrictions on quantity. Price is what it is these days and you may find cheaper elesewhere but shipping kills most deals. I save shipping and pick mine up so that may make a difference for some. At times they have felt like an oasis in the desert but I find even the London CTC often has decent ammo but limits quantities. Even TSC in London has ammo in bulk at times at good prices.
