In the spirit of getting more people to try out 3-gun, we are considering to experiment a new division "Legacy" or "Vintage" to allow people to use stock SKS, bolt rifle, hunting rifle, revolver, O/U or side by side shotguns, cowboy action gear etc to shoot in its own division. Perhaps, not so much for competition but just for fun, :)

Would love to hear your opinion or if there is any interest.

Cool idea on the vintage...tempted to run my SKS and Tokarev and do a Soviet theme or if I had a matching revolver I'd consider my Lee Enfield and a trench gun for a WW1 theme...Great job on removing barriers to access. We need more creativity like this to continue to grow the sport.

Sometimes I run my VZ58 in our club 3 gun just for S#!ts and giggles. We had a stage that was 40 rounds rifle, I only had 5 mags (of 5 = 25) at the time and made up the rest with stripper clips. It was great fun and still managed to be competitive. Only thing to be aware of is a class like that will slow down squad times.

IPSC standard guns is roughly classified as ESP (Enhanced Stock Pistol) in IDPA. As long as it is open sight and no compensator or ported barrel, it can still be in Tactical Optics division in 3 gun.

So IPSC Standard gun and belt rig minus race holster is open and acceptable?
