T2 Garand - Part 1

After reading through this thread I am surprised to see what I am reading. There must me more going on here then what we are seeing. The rifles are obviously of questionable quality from the pictures that are posted. Marstar is a reputable business, I cant see them knowingly wanting to screw us gun owners and put our safety at risk, that's just not good for business. The fact that Marstar is not addressing the problem yet is making a lot of people pretty sour but maybe we should wait a bit and just see what they actually do to rectify this issue. Maybe they went over and checked a dozen rifles initially and they were good so put them all for sale. Now that all these issues have surfaced they are probably trying to get to the root of the problem and that can take some time if he is dealing with people overseas and if he has legal advisors involved. Marstar has given us opportunities to purchase some really nice firearms over the years so I think its too early to kick them to the curb just yet. I know you guys are pissed about having a $1700 wall hanger but lets just give them some time to make things right. I cant see them just ignoring all this for the sake of making a profit. JMO

John1 has been on many times. He has ignored and talked down to folks with legit questions on the fakery of these rifles. He has had plenty of time to recall the rifles. He has done nothing.
If your thinking he needs more time. Time was up when he new these rifles could cause great injury to those using the rifles. That was his time to recall the product. Not wait to see if the problem was going to go away.

I have read Johns posts and yes I agree he should not talk down to people like that. For everyones sake I hope he makes things right in the end.

doesn't look like he wants to make things right, he refuses to pay the back shipping for his junk.

Brother, you are seriously underestimating the the vexation of GREED. Marstar is ruled by it and that is now apparent. Johnone would have sold one to his mother if she had the money...all sales final. :( ( he couldn't give a sh1t.)

I am almost thinking it might be worth it to keep the rifles I have. If I send them back there is a good chance they will disappear. Might be better to retain them so there is no doubt and the physical evidence is intact.

How much time did he need to say sorry I made a bad purchase and want all those rifles returned to me asap. No questions, no remarks, no anything. Shipping covered with postage paid shipping from any courier or Canada Post. He made his deals with overseas hacks and Canadian firearms owners should just wait? NFW! And what about any customers who are not members of CGN of other forums? How are they to know that they bought a "$1700 wall hanger"(re:grenade)? I for one would not want my recall notice to be a bolt fired into the back of my head! This is not going to end well period. The German government will be hearing of this matter soon enough and the Germans take their gun laws far more seriously than Canada. They will then have the RCMP investigate the matter as to the possibility of bootleg proofmarks. Breaking copyright laws are worse than murder in most western nations and you can bet the Cologne Proof House will want their pound of flesh from any and all connected with this scam.

Evidence in a criminal investigation! Send them back and they become parts with the bolts and barrels sitting at the bottom of the Ottawa River!
Add evidence tampering to a growing list of possible charges.
This just the crap the Liberals want so as to justify any UN marking schemes.

Dear Sir:

I wrote to you yesterday about a possible weapons crime that had been committed in Germany. I explained that I bought a rifle with a possibly forged Cologne Proof House marking.

I just contacted the Cologne Proof House and they confirmed my fears. The Cologne Proof House only marks weapons using a hammer struck die. The markings on my rifle were applied with a laser engraver and the use of this tool would indicate that serious wrongdoing has taken place.

In my respectful view, a thorough investigation by the German authorities might uncover other even more serious violations of German law.

Yours very truly,

Etc

For those who want to check the authenticity of the Cologne CIP proofing on their rifle...

Emailing a clear photo of the laser engraving of the CIP N Cologne mark and the serial number on the rear of the receiver might help as well.

It's not a bad idea if you can wait out the refund, at least a few days until Squinty hears something back from zee Germans....
If the RCMP get involved they will want to examine them, take pictures, etc.
It's going to be interesting to find out who these came from in Italy. I mean, John probably has a receipt from the Italian GOV who surplused these directly to him right....lol

Before you go white knighting to the government

How much of a #### pile do you want to stir up?

Something about spiting ones face.

Government will sell us out for a vote

Media will burn us for a story

RCMP is outright hostile

Choose your battles wisely.

For all the folks on here asking for a criminal investigation by various L/E organizations into this incident ; just be careful what you wish for as it could open the door for the Liberals to ban all Military Surplus imports for public safety reasons . If I recall correctly ; the CZ 858 and Swiss Arms came under investigation by the RCMP after one dealer filed a complaint about another dealer for selling the rifles . We do not have a firearm friendly govt. in power at this time ; and this may be the chance that the RCMP is waiting for to ban some more guns .
