So I`m thinking of adding a 9mm handgun to my collection (still undecided which) which of course means it`ll need some ammo

What sort of cash does 9mm run at?

Where are the best deals to be had either locally (I live in the Okanagan) or online?

Firearms Outlet Canada aka FOC in Ajax Ontario sells 9mm 124 gr reloads specifically made for IPSC for $275/1000. It's their house brand. I've shot 6-7000rounds of it with ZERO probs!! I love it! Especially for my IPSC and 3 gun matches. Find it a really soft low recoil shooting ammo. Few wks ago they had it on sale for $260/1000. Amazing deal!

Prior to shooting the FOC ammo was shooting Wartak reloads. In one brick alone I had THREE (3) squibs!!!! First time I ever had a squib and since dumping Wartak haven't had one since. Have spoken to several others that have had squibs and misc other problems with the Wartak reloads!!! FOC use to carry Wartak till their customers apparently started complaining about squibs/probs and that's when they switched suppliers.

I'm now a big FOC ammo fan!

Epp's has factory 9mm for $299 (don't remember what brand), why buy reloads

Find Blazer Brass, Wincester White Box, PMC and all the factory 9mm way to hot and snappy compared to the FOC reloads...which has been specifically manufactured for IPSC by IPSC guys. And at the introductory price of $260/1000 for 124 gr they had it at the last several months, it wasn't worth the effort for me to reload.

Try it and you'll see what I'm talking about.

You're the first person I've ever heard call 9mm way too hot. I reload my own in any case (hotter than factory), but mostly I shoot 45

Like the Wolf reloads as well...when I can find it. But last time I bought some it also cost me more. Poster was asking for the cheapest 9mm. Next to reloading yourself, cheapest most reliable available 9 I have found for my practice and competition purposes has been the FOC reloads.

Come winter when the shooting season quiets down and I have more time I'll be reloading and stocking up again for next season.

PS: I have no interest in FOC nor the company manufacturing their reloads. Just a regular Joe shooter who's found something that works for him:)

I didn't know the squib problem was that big a problem. I had a squib with them too.

Canada ammo has a good deal going on right now for the IMI stuff. Free shipping over $200.00 too.
Very clean looking ammo. Shot about 200 rounds through my glock with no problems.
I'm in the okanagan too.

I didn't know the squib problem was that big a problem. I had a squib with them too.

Wartak told me my initial squib was a 'one off' situation. Then I had a 2nd Wartak squib, then a 3rd Wartak squib!!! Since then I have heard from several others that have also had squibs. Doesn't sound like a 'one off' problem to me!!

Folks will continue to buy the Wartak based on price. But saving a few bucks is not worth the risk a squib represents to me. I consider myself lucky I caught the squibs in practice and they didn't occur in a match situation where I may not have caught it. I'm done with Wartak!

Hahaha!! Northways...You kept firing a box when you got a squib?? I don't know but sounds like you are a special stupid. I got a squib in a box of Federal once and I didn't even get an email back. Wartak gave you ammo to replace your messed up stuff? Sounds like they are pretty cool. I think I am going to give them a try. Thanks for letting me know that they actually listen to their users...

Actually it sounds like you are, Maybe do some research on the multiple squibs and a gun that blew apart from this ammo, Just Because they replaced some of the ammo after the hassle, that makes you want to do business with them? Sorry but that's a stupid reason to want to do business with anyone. Would much rather prefer doing business from someone who doesn't have a long track list of QC issues that's could result in my gun being destroyed or a serious injury.

Since you clearly have a problem with reading Emmystar, to repeat, in
a long tel conversation I had w/ Nicole at Sterling Cross/Wartak, she 'told me my initial squib was a one off situation' and implied no others had complained about squibs. So yes, on her assurance on my next range trip I con't to shoot the Wartak ammo...naturally alert to squib possibility ...and low and behold...had 2 more squibs from the box!

Speaking with the guys at FOC they advised they to had had several 'complaints' including squib complaints from their customers about the Wartak ammo....which they had in turn apparently forwarded on to Sterling Cross/Wartak.

So Nicole's assertion my initial squib was 'one off' is...how do we say...hmmmm...'questionable'!!

After initial squib they sent me a brick of 200 rounds for my hassle...and a torn Wartak toque. Not sure my wife is going to allow me to wear torn/hobbo clothes so torn toque got trashed. Nothing after that for squibs 2 and 3 and ruined cleaning rod...and in fact stopped returning my emails. Nice 'customer service'!

And emmystar if you bother to read any of the numerous other posts on this and other CGN threads or the net, you'll find there are several others out there that have experienced Wartak squibs, assorted other probs and or catastrophic failures while using Waratak reloads. But you just go ahead and ignore all these other posters warnings emmystar and 'give Wartak a try' ...because you have what? ...big b@lls or like to live on the edge.

Call me silly, but that sounds to me like an especially 'kind of stupid'!

Don't worry. Emmystar has 2 total posts since March 2015, no EE rating. User is a troll or aligned with wartak in some way. Lol
:p

Hey Tigerbalm. Looks you like your suspicion that Emmystar is related to Wartak may just be correct after all!!!!!

Emmystar registered on CGN March 2015 and there first post was a response to A CGN post by Verywellhidden titled 'Buffalo Bore...Anyone Selling It? To quote, Verywellhidden wrote "I just got my order of 45-70 Buffalo Bore from Sterling Cross Defense.. the girl Karyn was awesome and she said she has a bunch of rifle calibers in stock.." Then the mysterious Emmystar responds, "Thanks for the hot tip, I just got some 500 grain yesterday!". Then a couple posts later the 'awesome Karyn' from 'Sterling Cross Defense' responds from Sterling Cross advising all the good CGN'ers that they have loads of Buffalo Bore in several calibers yada yada.

Long story short Verywellhidden is now well established to be Nicole Bullock from Sterling Cross Defence aka Wartak!!!!! Best I can tell she seems to have 'come out of the closet' circa Nov/Dec 2015 when she responded on CGN posts about FOC customers complaining about multiple FTF with Wartak ammo and asked customers to tell her good or bad their experiences and or contact her yada yada. We further note 'awesome Karyn' from Sterling Cross also established her CGN acct March 2015.

What can we surmise from this series of posts??? Could it be these 3 posters are all the same person and or are employees/affiliates of Sterling Cross/ Wartak and this series of posts was possibly a calculated attempt by Sterling Cross/Wartak to create hype for their Buffalo Bore ammo???!!!

You tell me CGN'ers? what do you think? Did Sterling Cross/Wartak try to deliberately mislead the CGN community and create 'false, hyped up posts? If this be so I'm Shocked!! Not to mention outraged :):) :)

If Tigerbalms suspicions are correct there's Gotta be some sort of CGN 'rules' or 'code of conduct' about this sort of thing... eh??:)

And then to have the mysterious Emmystar poster slam me and call be 'special stupid' over my Wartak squib probs...I'm beyond outraged:). I'm calling for an 'Enquiry' into this whole matter ...and while we're at it how about Wartak QC :):)
