New DA556 rifles - What do you want?

I'd prefer "longer" barrels. The original M-16 had a 20'' barrel length, some people consider 16'' the "civilian standard"; it's kind of weird now to see all those <15'' barrels. The tiny 7.5'' sure look tiny, like a pellet gun. I say make a 20'' or 24'' barrels for us manly man.

And make the die cast lower. The heck with a stigma. A lot of people buy 300$ Norinco 1911 and are fully happy with them, even with the stigma. The best quality/price ratio usually gets my money. That's true for everything: cars, tools, guns. If you manage to make a full AR-15 20'' for 600$, I'll probably pick up one even if my use of any rifle these days is very limited.

And make it quad rail if not too expensive. And adjustable length stocks if not too expensive too. I prefer adjustable to folding. No use at all of folding stock actually.

Quad rail would be a deal breaker. Some of us don't feel the need to hang 17 pieces of junk off of our rifle. Keymod or mlok free float handguards would be much better IMO.

Are you going to be able to bring in just completed uppers? I would be very interested in that at that price, probably 1 7", 1 14.5" & 1 18" (20"?).

I heard the Norc/Dominion Arms CQ-A had CHFB, any truth to that and will the new ones have CHFB?

M-Lok handgaurds and monolithic uppers made in the US would put you ahead of the game of CC at your pricepoint, but probably not possible at that price?

A1 upper receiver for the retro look

naked rifle without hand guard or butt stock, since those are typically replaced before people even fired a round.

Is it possible to have the A1 uppers on the pencil 14.5" barrel or 10" for and old school carbine? Find a source for the xm177E2 flash suppressor (proper ones with grenade ring not the brutal bushmaster ones) and you would have a nice affordable little retro rifle. Troy sells theirs for around $1200US so if one could keep it around the 600-700 mark I think you would get some bites. Or hell, bring the parts in and folks can mix and match and build their own.

Flat top is a must! Keymod free float forend would be awesome too! Might be asking a lot, but maybe have some made in a DMR setup with 18" barrels and something along the lines of Magpul PRS stocks on them. The PRSs are pretty pricey to put on after, I'm sure that they could be added more cheaply at the manufacturing level if ordered in bulk.

Yes the Noricnos have forged barrels. The new ones will not. I have yet to see an advantage other than production speed.

May as well keep furnature costs to a minimum, most people will have it all changed out before putting a round through it anyhow. :nest:
