As long as Marstar keeps paying their bill to keep a banner I doubt there is anything they could ever do to get banned.

Maybe GT could take some of that money and reimburse these poor bastards that got scammed by Marstar..... just a suggestion lol.

The silence from Marstar about the issues with these rifles speaks volumes about the integrity of them as a retailer.
Anything for a buck..

Everybody has to draw your own conclusion, mine is not only never to deal with this individual again, but also all the people (friends) and businesses associated with him (johnone).

Leaving quality and safety aside, selling newly assembled parts rifles as "original Tippo-2 Riflles" that have been in "storage for 50+ years" and shipping fakes, would be like selling standard SVT40 rifles but advertising that they are sniper variant...

Oh wait...

Err, maybe it's more like selling Berdan surplus ammo and telling people boxer ammo was not available, then selling more desirable boxer ammo after the junk ammo was gone... err...

I know, it's like telling people they are buying a Shelby Cobra GT, but shipping a poorly assembled kit car with leaky brakes. Maybe that's the best analogy?

Dont forget NM sights that were not quite NM ;) Seems like a pattern as of late??

If it is unintentional that is another (as of yet unresolved) story, but if it is not unintentional.. then this is a bait & switch situation.

If (a big if) a well breeched and indexed barrel on one of these rifles passed a NATO field gauge, I could live with just dropping in a new bolt.

Not going to happen, not with the 2 I examined... They were so over headspaced, new barrel and bolt is the only cure.

Why on earth would GT have to take any responsibility for any of this??? Good Grief.

As far as the banner, Marstar has only been charged and found guilty by the consumers on this board. Until they are formally charged and found guilty in a court of law, GT has no grounds to ban his advertising. There is a legal aspect to consider there as well.

If there is still an ad up for those rifles (there is) and the board membership allows a fraud to continue despite knowledge of it, there could be an issue of liability. It's worth considering.

Oh I don't know, maybe because there was a board long before there were paying dealers buying ad space on CGN? Maybe because dealer fees are pretty substantial, and GT makes a pretty good chunk of change off this little side project that would not exist if it wasn't for the members here?
The board exists because of the members, not the dealers. No members, no dealers willing to pay for ad space.
So yeah, when a dealer screws over members, it would be nice to see the board owner actually do something like ban the offending dealer, or yes reimburse the members as reassurance the that the members mean something, and there are consequences for screwing them over.
Even John if he had an ounce of class would voluntarily pull his ad after this ####show.
Just blows my mind that the site owner doesn't seem to care about this scam on his board, the dealer doesn't care about the customers they lied to and won't reimburse shipping. I guess as Iong as they both make money off the members here nobody gives a #### when something like this happens.

You try, convict and get the Nanny to execute others no less than three dozen times a week. :)
