what do you suggest that is lighter?

I have the ACR in 450 Bushmaster and 7.62x39
And Remington 30AR in the works. Even in 223 (which I do not care for) what other comparable options are there that are considerably lighter with proven accuracy?
 
Su-16. Has some bugout features I like and I've heard is good enough for the price. Would like to try one first of course.
 
If I buy a NR AR alternative and it shoots anywhere in the 1-2" @100yrd range with decent ammo, im fairly content. Dont see the point in owning any black rifles that shoot worse than that, cus then they start treading into my Red rifles territory... gotta keep the peace.
 
I agree with many of you, that it is particularly difficult to check all the boxes an AR does, but if you uncheck the budget box, the ACR can get very close, and in my opinion is actually better than an AR in several aspects.

If the AR became NR tomorrow, I don't even know if I would go out and buy one anymore, and I doubt it would get much use if I did. I have a MV that should be ready at the end of the month, guess we will see what gets the most use, but the only reason I ordered a MV is to have a match the the custom serialed MH. That should say alot about which rifle I am theorizing I will like better.

For me I prefer any military style gun or something used by armed forces or militias, kinda cuts down on selection. Colt Canada has been on my target for awhile because of this, also P90, FS2000, famas style guns, ext ext.

I cant shoot bullpups so their all outta the question.
 
I had a Diemaco but sold it because it couldn't go to the bush with me. I've been trying to get something as close to that as possible. No luck yet though. I'm going to try the MV, hopefully it'll be close enough to scratch the itch:). At 5 Ginos though , I could have got a really nice AR and optics and still have a couple grand left over. We shall see.

This ^^^ only downside is its Restricted, however traveling to where it can be used before purchasing a clumpy Tavor is well worth it. The others like the ACR are just way over priced due to its classification for my liking. If I want to plink outside the range or in this country a mini for me fills that need.

Now the ATR MV is very intriguing sans the cost. Ergonomics are AR like, very modular and visually appealing.

I pretty much love everything I find in 5.56mm.
Most for the technical aspect of figuring out how it works as well as to shoot.
Even the non stanag mag rifles.

Lightweight and handy, the AR180B and the SU16.
I mean really, really light. Still reliable though with simplicity being won by the AR180B.

The controls on the XCR were awesome.

The simplicity of the T97 weighs against the ergos.

The reliability and adaptabilty of the Tavor, mind I find it a touch thick.

Again the reliability factor of the Swiss Arms and the SG 540.
Even the novelty of the CSA58 in 5.56mm.

Given I once owned fourteen ARs and am now down to seven.
I only sold the SU16 and the XCR but I have nothing but positive things about them all.
I still have all the rest and it all boils down to personal preferences.

I would love to try an ACR and a Robinson M96 one day.
I look forward to seeing the newer updated M17 coming into Canada.
