You should definitely keep that one ............ unless you want to sell it to me lol . I've owned five number three Carbines , including one in 30/40 Krag , but never managed to find one in 44 Mag . Very nice .

I really need to get a pistol caliber carbine in my safe...

Yes, you do... shooting hard cast is an inexpensive way to do some seriously fun shooting and tight-quarters hunting. I usually deer hunt with a pair of bolt action rifles, one flatter shooting option and one mid-range medium bore shooting heavier bullets... plus... there is always a .44 Mag Carbine along for the ride... whenever I end up hunting the tickets I am more than happy to grab the .44.

Here is my baby! .357 1894 I bought it from a good friend of mine who got me started with cowboy action shooting.

This is the rifle that got me hooked.

Very nice Ian had one myself and stupidly sold it.

Would be nice to aquire another although Remington owned Marlin have not made any new ones since 2012.

Good luck getting a new one, although the Remington made ones are getting much better no doubt the .357 mag ones will be coming out some time. This is actually my second 1894C. The first one I bought was a 1979 first variant pre safety with the long ejector. It was rather ammo picky though so when I found out my friend Garnet was selling his newer one (1997) I decided to sell mine and pick his up instead. I really wanted it since it was the gun that got me started with CAS. Plus it would cycle anything. So long story short sold mine, picked his up and now have exactly what I want. I actually prefer the safety too since it really isn't a good idea to dry fire without it on and it makes for safer magazine dumps if for some reason Im not shooting them all off. Garnet is happy too since he saw the rifle go to a friend.

Handled a 77/44 today for the first time. A steal of a deal because the stock was in terrible condition but the bore looked good.

It may be following me home sometime soon.
