New DA556 rifles - What do you want?

I am looking for my first AR.

As a noob, as long as it is affordable, ready to shoot and reliable, I am good.

I know I eventually want a flat top, but as I don't own any AR accessories (yet), I just want something with basic sights so I can shoot it as soon as I get it. Either a flat top + carry handle like the Norc, or a complete flat to w/ sight options.

I'm also hoping to buy my first AR, and I'm also a Vietnam War buff, so can you please make a Vietnam War style AR? Much obliged!

Naked rifle, no furniture.
basic mechanicals with 'window dressings' left to the customer.

focus on quality trigger, tight fitting upper/lower and a few barrel options to please all.

thx

BUT having options available at time of sale. If you have to add part send via the mail from here and there it ends up costing way to much.

Better to have basic model and say on online form...add Magpul stock, free float 9 inch rail and ergo grip.

If made in the USA i'd say 16" mid length gas system with 12 to 14" of free float rail. I could add the rest myself to keep costs down on your end and I'd be thrilled.

I'm thinking the same things a lot of people have said:

1 - Almost no one keeps the buttstock so don't bother making them and sell it without!
2 - I already have more AR lowers than I need, have the option of just getting a complete upper (with the BCG and Charging handle)
3 - Longer barrel, not shorter
4 - Flat top and ditch the front post
5 - Ambi charging handle

And if you are selling the entire rifle for $600, come up with a reasonable proportionate price for just the complete upper. Some places that sell complete rifles and then just the complete upper for the same rifle are charging less than $100 less for the upper than for the complete rifle. The lower, LPK, handgrip and buttstock have to be worth more than $100???

Bundle the whole thing with some nice non-corrosive ammo (say 1000 rds) and include shipping.

Something to think about as well, uppers in multiple calibers - How's about a gas (not blowback) 9mm or .45 cal or 7.62x25 :)

9mm
Glock mags
No butt stock needed. Flat top.
Barrel length short as possible would be cool. But what ever helps with keeping it cheap

We are looking to produce another run of DA556 rifles.

These will likely be US made.

What features are you looking for?

M4 Carbine clone uppers by themselves would be GREAT. 14.5" USGI barrels, 1:7, chrome lined, 5.56 chamber. Normal GI configuration hand guards, sights, etc. with F/A type bolt groups.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE.

Selling uppers independently would be great as well, I have a scratch for 14.5" lately. Flat-top, option for lightweight keymod rail or something.

For a full rifle, the point above about selling without a butt stock is valid, most folks I know just swap them. Reduce the costs by not including one but allowing for people to add one to their order for a few bucks more.

All this talk about how everyone mods their guns is great for the COOL factor .. But doesn;'t make you a better shooter !!
Says TFB , Nutfancy, LEV and Greyman.
So give me a complete gun ready to shoot.. or upper
rant over..
