BINGO, I learnt this from an old First Nations dude. I heard him say to Jr when he asked why are those birds squawking and circling up there, he answered: they are telling you there is a deer right down there and they want you to make a gut pile for them!
Tip: make a small fire and stand in the smoke just before heading out to hunt. Some folks say that doesn't work, some folks just don't know!![]()
And they're also excellent for letting you know if you're still hunting slowly and quietly enough. Ever notice how the bush seems dead until you've stopped walking and been sitting for 10-15 minutes to let everything settle down and the forest suddenly comes to life with birds and small game as they think you've passed through the area?
You know you're still hunting properly when the birds are singing and the squirrels are going about their business. Funnest way of hunting deer and I easily see 3x more deer/animals when compared to stand hunting.
The bold was a lesson I learned the hard way, twice! All you guy's mist the most important thing.
In all the excitement DON'T FORGET TO take your safety off,HAVE FUN AND ENJOY THE HUNT!
