Medicine Hat Annual "Summer Sizzle" 3 Gun Match, Sat 10 Sept 2016

I was booked to work Cam but I ended up switching with one of the guys to be able to make it to the shoot, Haven't decided what to shoot yet. What pistol are you going to run?

Glock 17

I wanted to run my NEA 7.62x39 AR, KSG shotgun and a Walther PP but didn't get time to set it up. I'll be running my standard Daniel Defence, Remington 870 and Glock. Couldn't even find mag pouches for my BR99 so that's out this time as well.

Are you going revolver? The April match next year I'll go revolver just so you can beat me.

I ran the revolver in Milo, and had a good time, I figured I should switch it up and either run the 1911 or the glock 17. Leaning towards the 1911 its been a few years since its had any love, My semi shotgun piled up and I havnt bought replacement parts yet, so it back to the 500, and I have a nifty little DDmk18 you might like that I'll be running. What kind of walther do you have? Devry pretty well has me convinced on the PPQ but still sorting out what model I want the most. Too bad about the x39 ar, It sounds like a lot of fun.

We did some testing on the steel we will be engaging with the rifle and tested out lots of different ammo, and steel jacket/steel core was not affecting the ar 500 plates at the distance we were shooting.

we did not shoot green tip 223, I wouldn't recommend it.

I just texted the match director and will let you know asap

OK let me know what they say... I'd really like to shoot my SKS, I do have HP steel jacketed ammo that definitely does not damage steel, but it's no big deal otherwise, I can always use my non megnetic .223.

For those who asked there is no restriction on rifle ammo other than the obvious, Designated Armour piercing/Penetrating, Tracer or incendiary not allowed.

Definitely worth the drive! i'll be back again next year! the circling model airplanes over head and drag cars coasting by us all day also made for some good entertainment...

Thanks for the video.

I don't know about you guys, but season is winding down here. Cold at a local 3gun match yesterday and at our club's open house today. But we shot a 3gun stage anyway!

Our last chance of the season is coming up in two weeks with a big one day, four stage shoot in two weeks time. Then I'll be putting the AR and shotgun away for the winter.

Our season ends in October.

Great match. I had a really good time. Thank you to all that were involved in making this match happen.

That SAP6 looks like a real mess to use.
