I've heard of wolves gorging on newborn caribou brains and not bothering with the rest of the calf, because there are so many born at the same time. Wolves (and bears) do the same with salmon out west. Ripping the skin and head off fish (the fattiest parts). Wolves are part of the natural ecosystems of North America, they aren't destructive foreign species nor are they domesticated predators like cats who pose an actual threat to natural wildlife. Sure, they make farming a pain, but it's hardly the wolves fault humans have taken over this continent with cattle to sustain their livelihood.
