Just wondering what mods fellow shooters are doing to their Ruger Precision Rifles?

I have added a Seekins handgaurd so far. (although it was shipped with the wrong nut, and I have a gap at the barrel nut, the right one is coming)
I have placed an order for a 6.5x47 24" barrel from JC custom barrels.
Ordered a few other little trinkets as well.

What's everyone else doing if anything to yours? It will be interesting to see what this action/chassis is capable of with a barrel and other upgrades.

I've only done grip and prs stock and titanium bolt shroud to mine. I was going to buy a new barrel but I've shot a couple groups in the .3's at 300m and shoots 2" at 400 so I'm going to burn this barrel out first then will probly switch from 6.5cm to 6.5x55

Seekins hand gaurd, JC Customs barrel, TI bolt shroud, TI bolt knob, Atlas bipod and monopod, Egro grip, Insite Arms Heathen brake, Magpul mags, Nightforce ATACR 5-25x56 F1, Nightforce 6 screw extreme rings, level and cosine indicator, Pelican 1750 case.

Mine is .308 and it shoots easy .25 MOA with factory match ammo at 100 yards off a bipod, I couldn't be happier with it, I just ordered a nother barrel from him for my Rem 700 in .223

The pulled shot I say was me, I'm still pretty new to precision and distance shooting just started this year, previous I was more into handguns, deer and bird hunting, clays. This group was done with Hornady 155 steel match, my barrel is 24", so far the farthest I've shot is 885 yards and did a few .75 MOA groups with bad mirage.

I put a piece of duct tape on the underside of the butt to cover the picitanni rail. This allowed the rifle to slide back on a rear bag; before it would grip the bag. This gives you an instant 1/4 MOA. That's the only change I made.

Thanks, we are waiting on couple of JC barrels and will compare against Criterion.
Peter

I'd honestly be very surprised if they didn't hold their own, I did get some single hole groups with my stock barrel too, but not as consistent as JC's and not quite as tight, I also never see any signs of copper fouling when I clean it either, stays very clean.

Thanks Mike, most kind, but have this somewhat planned, starting with BEAST/ATACR, JC and Criterion barrels, Lapua match ammoo and probably some handloads, all tested with LabRadar and / or Kurzzeit chrono. Should be fun and you are welcome, as is anyone else, to participate.

Best regards,

Peter

Can't wait to see the results!

This is my RPR I love it, also have a Proof carbon fiber barrel in 6.5creedmoor in the mail for it as well as a lancer carbon fiber handguard. thinking on getting a Magpul PRS stock but not 100% sure yet

tagged as I just joined the RPR club with a .308 purchased from a fine CGN'r on the EE. I'm still a part of the sub $300 scope crowd, so I'll see how those work out first before ponying up for some more spendy glass. Probably start with my Millet TRS.

For anyone who has already swapped out the RPR stock and wants to off load it, let me know as I've got a SR-22 I'd like to try it out on (edit - got one, thanks!)

I just added a SAP 2 round holder (adhesive, sticky) to the right side of the aluminum receiver... I scored it from 693Precision... board sponsor/business here on CGNutz.

I guess that will count as an upgrade.

Swapping out the RPR stock? Hmmmm... might be an idea. But I have swapped out the factory pistol grip for a Magpul MIAD grip to play with the extensions and grip angles...

Cheers,
Barney

Also have a a JC customs barrel set up to shoot the 140 grain hornady match this was the rifle he used to tool up to make these barrels have yet to shoot it due to lense replacement in my dominant eye but not too worried the three rifles he built for my brother are literally one hole shooters. Other upgrades being done are new front handguard timny trigger when available and maybe bolt shroud and pistol grip and still doing some research on the best muzzle break for it

Give the insite arms heathen brake a try, or the ATRS brake I have a like new one of those in the box if that intrests you, it performed good I just prefer the heathen as I can take it off by hand when cleaning vs a wrench and crush washer.
