Well, here it is, my first deer. Third day into the hunt i was trackin a small herd of does mostly to see if i could. Then around a bend stood this guy. On top of a ridge at about 85 yards. I was a bit suprised how fast my heart started going so i had to really concentrate on breathing when i took the shot. Glad i did. Got him right in the heart, he did a little hop and started off down the other way on the ridge. He got about 20-25 yards or so and i had no trouble finding him following the massive blood trail he left. Overall succesful hunt, ended up with enough meat for quite a while. Looking forward to turning him, the rabbits, and the grouse into some tasty dishes.

Nice deer, and good eating no doubt. Anyone that says they don't get excited when their ready to drop one is full of it, nothing like the chance of shooting a nice deer to get the blood pumping.

Adrenaline was an issue for many years with me . It still makes the horns grow at times , and that's a big part of the fun

Way to go!!!! Nice to see a first deer and that smile ...
I bagged my 1st deer when I was 17 after a couple of seasons of hanging my unfilled tag on the Christmas tree!!! Quite a feeling.
Still after all these years and many deer(s), I still need to collect myself before squeezing and making the shot count!

A big congrats to you ... That little buck will be delicious!

Terry...
