I'm just wondering what everyone thinks is the most fun 9mm pistol to shoot. I've always been a fan of 1911s and love the way they shoot. Looking of getting a 9mm pistol since ammo is a bit cheaper. Only 9mm I've shot was the H&K VP9 And I didn't like the feel of it, recoil was too soft and I didn't shoot as well with it imo. So I guess for me I'm looking for a 9mm with a bit more kick. Anyone got any suggestions?

I think that's a subjective question. I got to shoot a bunch of different pistols before I purchased one. the one I like the most is the S&W MP9. a good buddy of mine loves is 1911 45. Another buddy loves his glock, one guy shoots only his STI.

Physics and ammo load determine the kick. My SR9 which is a pretty light plastic gun is very snappy with hot reloaded ammo. Whereas a Shadow that I got to try with light commercial reloads was very mild.

if you're looking for something with a bit more recoil then you may not be happy with the 1911 in 9mm. i have one and i would say the recoil is softer than any polymer pistol i've shot in the same calibre.

Yeah, my 9mm 1911 recoils like a bb pistol. Lot more snap from a polymer pistol as others pointed out. That said, never shot a 9mm that didn't put a smile to my face...

I like every one I have shot so far, lol, FNS9, Canik, PPX, Glock, MnP9, but my favorite so far has been a Beretta 92 Compact that a buddy has, only because I shot it really well right away, and it felt great in my hand, however I did pinch my pinky slamming a mag in it!

I've recently turned over to the Glock side. G26.... mostly cause they cheap as he'll in usa for a quality carry gun that you can bet your life on. The subcompact is still extremely accurate and not that snappy compared to a 380 pocket pistol.

Before that I was all about sig p226's.

I have some very fun shooting pistols ( G19 Gen 4 LW 106mm barrel, Beretta 92FS, PPK 5inch ), i have to admit and this is a big surprise to me that my Star Super B is as fun to shoot as those for under 300.00...

This is one of the best kept secret on this forum... JP.
