Wool Hunting Pants - Finally found some and Canadian Made

Wool pants re great for hunting. Providing warmth and they last a long time. I have a pair that I've worn for about 20 years... Almost ready for a replacement pair. Thanks for sharing the site...!

I have been on the search for Wool Hunting pants for a while and all I could find were from the US and crazy expensive.
I recently came across a Canadian supplier of Canadian Made Heavy Hunting pants. I got 3 pairs shipped for just over $350 total.

Thought I would share in case anyone else has had the same troubles finding.

Thanks for this post. I placed an order and hopefully all goes well

I have (or had, I can't find them at the moment) a pair of woodland camo wool pants that I bought years ago. I think these were Big Bill brand but don't remember for certain. I have worn them so thin in spots you can see through them. Wish I could find another pair. :ang

PS. I have located the old pants and they are Codet brand, not Big Bill, but it seems Big Bill is just a newer brand name for the clothing made by Codet Inc.

Even though I have a pair of these Canadian made wool pants, the best wool hunting pants I ever had and wore in the cold were the German Army surplus ones from the 1980's. They had double thickness lining in the knees and some form of water proof membrane between those layers. The close knit thick wool felt more like mattered felt, but was still soft, flexible and waterproof.

Plaid pants are very traditional for bird hunting.

These were great, but mine are wearing through, but they lasted a long time and had great value for dollar.

You can buy these at Ellwood Epps and Arts Clothing in Orillia if you are from the area. I paid less than $100 a pair at Arts. I have a pair of the 75% recycled wool (Model 210). They are great but I would have bought the six pocket version if I had known about it. I was going to get the 00% wool golf pant style but they didn't have them in stock. I like the look of those Merino Wool six pock pants. I will have to check if Epps or Arts can get then.

Well, I been buying the same thing from LLBean for years at much higher prices.

Exactly, when I started looking last summer for new Wool Hinting Pants all I could find were Woorich, Filson and the like at over $200 US each.
I checked all the big stores Cabelas, Bass Pro and the like with no luck.

Then a couple of weeks ago I thought I would have one more Google and found that website, couldn't believe it and the prices were great.
I got 3 pairs shipped for almost the cost of 1 pair from US after you factor in exchange.

Now I'm ready and can't wait for November 5th to come around.

I got carried away and ordered 1 pair merino cargo pant and 1 of the wool blend, then I completely lost it and ordered the Elmer Fudd wool hat with the flaps. A long gone friend use to have one and probably wore it to the grave.

I really like the look of the red/black plaid hunting jacket as well but had to draw the line.

Don't you know where he was buried?
