One gun to rule them all...

After a bit of reflection, there are two rifles on this sight that I thought were "perfection for platform and intent".....

The first was Ardent's Ruger #1...... the second is yours......

I won't say I envy you, it isn't something I believe in........ but I will say that I am happy for you, and congratulate you on something that is very special........

It's good to see that there are still craftsman capable of this level of work in this country . Congratulations on a classic and beautiful rifle ........ now go take an Elk with it .

That good sir, is an excellent rifle.

It wasn't just a rifle for me. It was a rifle to be passed down from one generation to the next. It was a rifle that would not live its life in a glass case, hidden away like some rich man's rare artwork or expensive wine collection. This was to be a rifle that would see lots of honest use not just in my hands or my son's hands, but also in the hands of those not yet born.

And that is the best quote ever.

Guess you didn't need another double, so you spent the same on a British Express bolt gun............Very nice Neo, very nice.........there's really nothing else to say........Nice cartridge selection as well. A true one-of-a-kind work of working art.

I have one question though........why start with a military action with the thumb slot.......just curious, not a criticism.....

I just lost my breath. That is stunning...

I also like your logic. :). If I was to have one built, I would choose a medium bore as well.

You should have something on that rifle that identify the maker or we will see a thread on CGN in a number of years asking "Who made this?"

I will add my voice to the chorus of cheers. That is a spectacular rifle. There is nothing About I don't like.

I am curious about the action and its accessories. It's obviously a Mauser 98. Can you tell us a little bit about its pedigree? What safety and trigger were used?

I applaud your decision to go with an action with the thumb notch and the clip charger guide-way. Any other choice may have defeated your desire to emulate the H&H/Mauser partnership of the past.

Awesome rifle and an outstanding thread, a most enjoyable read.
As a long time 300 H&H user ( 1970s ) I would enjoy reading about your load work.

Thanks for an excellent thread...

Not something I would ever want for myself but I am glad to see that it exists, so thank you for commissioning it and Mr. Martini and the other elves for bringing such a thing into being.

-Now that i take a look at it again, I think that scope looks a bit chunky on the rifle. :)

But if it doesn't ruin the rifles balance, that's what really matters. :)
