Ok here goes. This is my first year deer hunting. When I got my license in June, the lady asked if I wanted to enter the antlerless deer draw, as it was free and would give me a chance for a second deer if I was lucky. I also entered the controlled hunt draw online when the time came, and recieved a controlled hunt validation tag in the mail a few weeks ago. So, I now have a Deer License, a Deer Seal for antlerless (bows only, I don't have a bow) and a Controlled Deer Hunt Validation Tag, but no seal for the controlled hunt. went to the Service Ontario office yesterday, the man said that my Antlerless seal was good for whichever hunt I did. This doesn't sound right from what I've found online and in the Hunting regulations handbook. Any Ideas??

Your controlled hunt validation tag should say for does or bucks. The fellow at Service Ontario is wrong, your doe tag is for bows only as indicated. If you go on line, enter your hunting licence number with MNR it will tell you what you have and for what WMU
Deer license and seal are what you buy. That allows a buck in any zone during an open season. Your antlerless validation allows you the option of harvesting an antlerless deer in a specific WMU using only a bow. The controlled hunt validation allows you to harvest a deer during the date of the controlled hunt. If you do not have a controlled hunt validation, the season is considered closed for the duration of the controlled hunt. The controlled hunt validation will say what you are allowed harvest. It will say either antlered only, antlerless only or antlered and antlerless deer.
Through all of this confusion, you only have one deer seal unless you purchased an additional seal.

There should be an actual license with a tear off strip that is your deer seal to be attached to the deer.
It should have a bunch of black triangles around the edge that you cut out to indicate date and time of the kill.
If you are allowed to shoot antlerless deer, it will say "Valid for antlerless deer in WMU ###"

Based on your pictures you have:
1) A deer licence (which you must carry on your person) - this is different then the "seal" (tag) that you affix to the deer when it's harvested.
2) A deer tag/seal - in your case you were entered for a doe tag in the "bow only" WMU 92 and were "successful" - In ANY OTHER WMU it is simply a "buck tag" and can be used to harvest a buck "anywhere in Ontario" that ISN'T "controlled" whether you use bow, shotgun, rifle or black powder (as applicable to that WMU) in the open season. You "could have" used it to seal a DOE "only in WMU 92" during the bow season (obviously using a bow or crossbow).

3) you have a Controlled Hunt (permit) validation tag - that allows you to use your "deer seal" (listed as "2" above) to take a deer, "either" a Buck OR Doe in WMU 92B "ONLY" during the controlled hunt which runs from Nov 7 to 13 (with any firearms restrictions applicable to that controlled hunt as outlined in the regulations).
So - all this mumble jumble means 1) you can hunt a BUCK anywhere there is an open season with the firearms specified for that WMU. 2) You could have hunted Bucks and Does with a bow/crossbow in WMU 92 in the bow only season - if you chose not to hunt that then your (seal) reverted back to being a Buck only tag and 3) you can hunt Bucks and/or Does ONLY in WMU 92B during the controlled season and ONLY with the firearms allowed for that controlled hunt.
In 92B there is three "different" controlled hunts. You have a tag for the "first week" and are restricted to using Black Powder. Your tag does NOT allow you to hunt either of the other two black powder seasons in that WMU, but again, you could hunt a buck in any season of any other WMU that does not have controlled numbers (if you fail to "tag out" in your specified week).

Fair statement...... but with a license depot not informing him of this, I still question why he hasn't posted a pic of a deer seal....... without it, he can harvest absolutely nothing......
Bow hunting takes skill....... and practice......
Sighting one in properly requires that the bow is matched to your dimensions etc .... (I could go on, but will keep it simple)..... if you borrow a bow, you are setting yourself up for a big dissapointment and a lost animal.....
I have nothing but respect for prolific bowhunters that keep their skills sharp and their bows sighted..... I used to be that guy...... but work and family made me put my bow down as I owe my game more.....
If anything, try and get a crossbow and make sure it is sighted in....
X2... better yet, get properly mentored into the sport... and don't just sight in... practice, practice, practice... and learn proper shot placement and range estimation and deer anatomy.... etc... you don't just "borrow a bow" and go hunting.
Yes, I agree, but does he have it?....... more questioning the license depot than I am him or you...... after all, you can get one at service Ontario now...... enough said.....
