Original German G.33/40 Mountain Carbine and bayonet

I forgot about the dot coded bayonet to go with the rifle. These differ a little from a standard German bayonet. Numbered only on the bayo. Blade edge faces up instead of down. Scabbard is all milled and profiled so blade goes in only one direction. This one is probably unissued.

Beautiful Andrew! Nice work! In fact it's the nicest I've seen this side of the border. There is a guy south of town who has quite a large collection with some nice k98s but I think yours is a couple up from his. I appreciate the effort it takes to land just one of those!
Your p38 is lonely though... u need to throw a hp or Luger in with the ac. I'm truly jealous!
I think more k98s were imported over the last few years into Canada than were ever brought back by vets lol!
Thanks again for showing us.

The Czech vz 33/16 took a special bayonet with a short handle.

I think the rear sight started at 50 meters and was in 50 meter steps.

See Czechoslovakia for 33/16 and Gew. 33/40 bayonet.

The Czechs did make some different bayonets. I just wanted a dot one from the same era.indont think they made a dot41. Your page there backs that up. Perhaps the one marked only dot is 41. Regardless, this one matches pretty
Good.

Thanks Joe.
Haha yeah a few of us have imported a lot.Not the most financially sound way to do it, but it is the only way to collect exactly what you want.

I just bought one for $500. But it was converted to 7.62 NATO. Unsure if it is Israeli or a Norwegian Politi conversion as it was nicely done.

The politi ones should be obvious with their markings. And the Norwegian ones are typically still 8mm.

You are absolutely correct, sir. Not a lot of the Norwegian ones out there for sale, had my hands on one a few years back at a dealer. Could not get the paperwork completed in time for my return. You would cry if I told you the price they were asking in Norway.

This one is 575 CAD and quite a bit higher than the one i saw:

Complete with strap and Bayonet.
