No problem! Here's another comparison photo for you. The rifle on the right has a square area on the date stamp where the rifle on the left is a longer rectangle. If you see an SVT with the longer rectangular shape there, she started off her life as an SVT-38 and was rebuilt into an SVT-40
Thanks again! Unfortunatly, my SVT has the square and looks like your 1941 date stamp area except that it is an Izhevsk. My sight ladder does not have
a groove running down the center though. I am quite happy with my SVT 40 it has the early strap swivel, early 12 port muzzle brake, telescope sight grooves
and an AVT stock. One day I will buckle down to learning how to deal with picture taking and posting and show it off.

mYou have quite the svt collection! Congrats! I know almost nothing about these (go figure with a username like jbmauser) and I'm curious about the stock. Has it been sanded post war or is that just the way they look? Maybe part of the refurb process? It just seems to have a lot of rounded edges.
