First 9mm

Buy a used gen3 G17. Parts are plentiful and cheap. Easy to take down for cleaning.
After you've learned to shoot it everything else will be a breeze......

I'll throw in my .02. apart from the obvious which is to try as many as possible before deciding, I just recently acquired a iwi Jericho 9mm. It was between that and a cz sp01 shadow but opted for the iwi for multiple reasons. One being the price. I just broke it in last week putting 250 round through it and absolutely loved it. Not 1 hiccup. Only disadvantage I can see is the aftermarket options for it.

Ok bigplinker, I've gotta know the story.

How'd you stumble across a 5 year old thread, and decide to give advice to a nutter who hasn't even been on here in 9 months?

Doesn't the search only go back 3 years?

"Necro"? So what? WGAF? At least he's ON TOPIC.

I've got no problem with thread bumps, however old they might be, but I do detest any hijacking/trollish post complaining about a "necro" thread bump.

Chill Wendy.

I wasn't trolling. I was serious. Like, actually curious how one stumbles across a thread as run of the mill as "first 9mm" that hasn't been touched in 5 years. I wasn't trashing bigplinker. I'm legitimately curious as to how it happened.

But if you insist, I'll "keep it on topic" for you, and provide input to a question that the op stopped caring about half a decade ago.

Hey OP! Long time no see!! Glad to see you're back! I know you've already bought a number of guns since we last spoke, and are now actively reloading for them, but allow me to throw you a little advice anyway: Get a tt-33 with a 9mm conversion kit! 2 calibers for the price of half of one!

Better?

I honestly have no idea.
I did a search for 9mm because I'm a cheap bastard always looking for a deal, saw this thread and gave my 2 cents. Something funny, but, hey, still relevant, right?
I'm going to have to pay more attention to dates though, which is hard from this 2x3" screen I use for all my internets these days.
But thanks for the assist Wendell; who gives a #### how old the thread, if it's still useful information. If it was about Harper winning the election again, then yeah, maybe...

Norinco NP29 1911 9mm shoots fine & good price. I've put 500 rounds through it with not a hiccup. You can buy a good used one foe 300 bucks.

Weird. I thought the search function only went back 3 years. Not sure where I got that idea. Shows you what I know.

I'd figure out what your budget is that you want to spend, that will narrow down what you will be able to buy in your price range.
