I found out from Ardent that goat is still open in 6-14 I can go up north but only have about a week or so think I'm going to try my luck up Work Channel I have bin on the other side of the mountains by the glaciers lots of grizzly's and moose but no goats that I seen hoping my luck will be better on the coastal side
Don't know if the road to the fish hatchery mite be snowed So I'm thinking of chartering a seaplane it's not fare from Prince Rupert
Any of you northern BC guys hunt goat in work Channel ?

I am guessing you have been in there before? If not I can point you to a good camping spot depending on where you are going to set up.

PS Not much snow inland yet. Not sure what is going on at Mile 63.
 
You better check the regs. before you go....I think the area around work channel is Limited entry, only going by memory though. :)

It's going to warm up quite a bit next week
Plus don't have a snowmobile I got a bit over excited I guess not the first time that has happened Haahaa

Just to clarify you can only use a sled to access an area, can't hunt from it.
 
I have bin looking for a excuse to get a sled I was going to wait till I got a Buffalo draw hopfully next year will be my Lucky year

I haven't personally checked 6-14 zone A out, but the map only show one road going in on Bitter Creek where a sled might be useful.

Some of the area can be accessed directly on foot from the highway and a good portion of it is on the chuck so a boat might be the way to go if the goats are low in the cliffs. Also most of this area is north facing slopes, not sure how good that will work out in winter.

If the snow holds off another few days I might take a cruise up that way and spend some time with a spotting scope...lol, there are way worse ways to spend a day or two. :)

I was hopping to use the new tipi hot tent sitting in my Storage unit it just sitting there

LOL, yeah I've been up goat mountains more than a few times...also had sleds way above goats too. Normally the winter drives them down from the high barren areas but I hear there is not a lot of snow there to date...that may change soon though.

Also heard the road up Bitter creek has been removed, hoping to check things out a bit tomorrow if the weather holds. :)
