Something I didn't know about SKS's

That is a problem with only that particular sks. either guy in the video done something to his sks or his trigger group or springs were messed with. None or no other original sks from factory will do that. If bolt is not sitting completely closed trigger will not be set as in the video.
That guy did something to his gun or messed with trigger mechanism.

This. Had my daughter shooting today. The exact thing happened EXCEPT she gave it a little tap forward AND NOTHING HAPPENED.

Good info. I usually rack it on (what would look to be) a misfire anyway, after waiting about a minute of course, in case of a late cook off.

The bolt carrier isn't normal on that gun for starters. The bolt handle is welded shut or aftermarket without the void being machined out. Given all the other mods on that gun, and what everyone else is saying above, it would appear this is one off.

I tried it on all of my Chinese and Russian SKSs (7 total) and I could get 3 of them to do that ,but you have to let the bolt slide into battery very slowly and gentlely.

But really, who cocks their rifle like that.Pull back and let`er go hard.

That guy have live rounds in his mags ??

Yup.... maybe that's how he found "the flaw..." let it down slowly because he was in the house and it dropped into battery and BANG.... dunno but possible?
I am sure he is here and can shed more light on his findings

Well... the last SKS I bought, I thought there was something wrong with it because it didn't go to full battery I noticed as I was giving it the once over just out of the box . What ever I was doing I had let the bolt down easy and it was hung up. I thought to myself "weird" so I gave it a shot forward (some military left over giving the forward assist a hit) and it went all the way. Still thinking it was weird, I gave it a good rack and let go and it went in. Then I purposely let it down slow, and it hung up again.

I gave it the good first cleaning thinking the bolt was gunked up with cosmo, and it was fine after.

As has been said already though, on the range, with no bang on a trigger pull, my first go-to is a rack and clear.
