Very disappointed that appointed leaders of the RCMP are dictating their opinions on the population. If JT wants to change the way our government is elected he should begin with choosing a system to elect the senior leaders of our policing services. This way they must answer to the people

Playing games. Why should innocent people become a criminal because of them. Then pay for every single persons firearm if you expect to just receiver everybody's firearm who has done nothing wrong!

I was under the the impression these where reworked full autos again and not indeed brand new receivers?

They are specifically exempt in C-42. By creating a new variant out of engraving, RCMP skids around the law.

In this case the message from federal police is this: "see, we can do whatever we want, know your place peasants".

The precedent here is frightening. If I under stand this correctly, because of the way the RCMP worded the information in the FRT for the "Spartan" rifle, if I were to take my non-restricted Tactical - 2P and have the bolt carrier engraved and change the furniture, it would cease to be a Tactical - 2P and become a "Spartan" meeting the description they provided in the FRT. I would then be in possession of a prohibited rifle without the appropriate license.

hopefully this ends better than the blaze 47 fiasco. deemed prohib due as a varient of ak47 due to stock change. Clearly incorrect FRT assessment but still prohib currently.

After approx 8,000 CZ 858 had been sold the RCMP changed the classification to prohib. The Government announced an amnesty and then approx a year later the Government re-confirmed them as non restricted (or restricted if short barrel) this was not limited to those guns in Canada, this allowed us to resume imports. We imported another 400 after this and sold them with no problem.

The issue now with our last shipment is because of the fancy wood furniture and engraved bolt carrier the RCMP have decided these are a different model “Spartan” and not the CZ 858 Tactical-2P so they are not covered under the “deeming regulations” so they are prohibited. We made an error with our first advertising which mentioned “Spartan” I was away at the time and had not proof ready the copy, this was corrected with in approx 36 hours.

The receiver's on the CZ 858 from the last shipment are identical to all previous receivers on the CZ 858 Tactical - 2P

Okay.
Thanks for the clarification on that.
One more question though (you would be the most informed on this as well I would imagine) what was their primary reason for the prohibition the last time before the OIC was put in?
If I remember correct they said the receivers were at one point made to be full auto capable but just assembled to semi auto config when they were assembled and shipped to Canada. Is that also correct? (disregarding they inspected the firearm years prior and deemed them fine etc)

Sounds about right - these are the kinds of things that happen when no logic is used in classification.

If you send the letter calling the stock "furniture" most will not know what you are talking about and also you may want to say it is the exact same stock, same dimensions etc. but with a bit of engraving on it!

They were milled for full auto but there was never any drilling or installation for auto parts. Basiclly it had the room for full auto parts (before they weldes those blocks in) but they were never touched with full auto parts.

John did you pay for these "spartan" version's up front and are now stuck with them or will CZ be taking them back?

We have no "Spartan" versions, they never existed, we have a shipment of CZ 858 Tactical -2P rifles that we have purchased and paid for (months ago) these were legally imported, cleared by CBSA and we intend to sell them at some point in time.

I have a feeling the RCMP isn't going to get away with this one. Either way, Wolverine is a top notch company and I wish I would have bought all my guns from them, up to this point. From now on, I will.
