Any 8MM surplus Ammo?

You can still find crates of yugo 8mm. It's dirty, and sometimes hit and miss. It it's around.

Other then that I've only seen it at shows in random lots as the others have said.

Do you know any dealer who still sell these surplus? ^_^

Surplus 8mm has long dried up. Lever arms had the last of it and they too are now sold out.

Some of it is excellent Ammo, some is not. Depends on the year and codes.

No dealers have any. Gun shows and online EE postings are the only two bets. Or importing it yourself.

Price for 8mm Mauser of any type is $1+ per round.

Agreed! My 1953 dated fatory 12 sruplus 8mm ammo is great.

what???????lol I got 1-2 inches group at 100 meters with my Yugo capture k98/m98...

Same here. Just picked up some of that dirty ammo. Took it out to the range last Sunday, 3 people shot it from their K98's at 50,100 and 200 meters. Ammo works just fine.
I also have leftovers from a crate our group purchased about 2 years ago. Guys had no problem hitting figure 11 center mass from about 200 meters away. Whatever was giving bad groupings must've been ammo from bad batch or something.

Too bad we can't find it no more, time to start reloading.

Wish I could say the same, I had a 20% failure to fire rate yesterday. It's why I only shot 10 rounds out of my K98, 2 were duds. These rounds came on stripper clips out of a sealed box of Yugo surplus I got when I bought the rifle.

Accuracy of the 8 that did fire wasn't bad, about 3.5-4 MOA - which is about what one can expect from a RC K98 using surplus. I may try it with Prvi Partizan ammo, if I can ever find any.....;)

I wish someone would import a bunch of 8mm surplus as it would sell like hotcakes. I remember marstar saying they had sea cans of it overseas but they seem to not want to bring any over here. I wonder if Corwin can source some from someplace? Hes been on a roll lately with getting us some nice goods!

Haven't seen him deal with ammo at all but maybe in the future,, Westrifle may have contacts over there! Someone should bring it in as in the last 6 months two sponsors brought in a good few M48 and lots of them were already here along with m98 so there should be som thirty 8x57 receivers out there ready to chew this stuff up!

The problem is importing ammo is a lot more difficult in this day and age than it ever was. The States has much looser regulations in regards to importation and eats it up significantly faster so that is where it all goes.

There also isn't much surplus 8mm Mauser left in existence in the first place. Most nations haven't issued a rifle in that caliber since about the 1970s and as such the surplus is mostly shot at this point (look at how much .303 British surplus is left for a decent comparison).

Only way to get somewhat cheap ammo is to reload or to do a massive bulk order, just the reality of the situation.

We fired about 100, maybe more. 3-4 duds. We had a little goodbye party taking place for dead smart phone. Our area was under fog advisory this past weekend. Thing was placed at a 200 meter mark and 3 people shot at it. Two with K98's/irons/Yugo ammo and I was using SVT/PU/Chinese ammo. We put a bunch of holes in it. Btw, phone didn't not explode, just kept accumulating holes :)
