So, looks like Casex has a new chassis and I'm really digging it, plus for $750 that's a super deal.

Currently only available for the 700 pattern rifles

That's a pretty expensive plastic stock isn't it?

Maybe I'm missing something.

Looks to be perfectly positioned for the market. $750.

between the

1) Archangel (no aluminum chassis/bedding block). Considered a cheap version of the JAE stock. Polymer only. $278 US.

2) JAE 700 (Has alluminum) Price $1800 US .

The Choate stocks have aluminum bedding too. Their "custom tactical" runs about 500 usd so that puts it in the same price point as the Cadex but not nearly as nice looking and no dbm.

Its Canadian made which is a huge plus in my books and an Archangel retails for about $400 CAD at my local gun store that caters to IPSC, Precision and 3 gun competitors. They also sell the M305 for $700 so

Archangel (400) + M305 (700) =1100 + tax before a scope.

At that point buy the Strike Nuke and build a rifle with it and add good glass. Or just buy a Cadex rifle with the Strike Nuke, probably what I'll do when I have the money, if only they made it in 243 Win...

The target audience for the Nuke are shooters who are thinking of composite stocks like McMillan and Manners. Do the math on equal features and the nuke is dirt cheap.

Compare the weights and the nuke is right there AND can offer a partial alum skeleton which some consider a very good thing.

The Alum DBM is ahead of most.

I am patiently waiting for mine to show up so I can review but what I have seen is really promising.

And just a hint... if you are paying $750, you are likely paying too much.

So your argument is on one hand that MRSP is a steal for the Nuke's feature set, yet on the other you would be paying too much if you've paid MSRP?

Ok, how much is "not too much" then?

So would you rather take this stock for the close money and weight?

I really like the new MDT ESS (so much so that it deserves another look!). It looks like they took a lot of input from shooters into its design. The interchangeable hand guards were a really good idea and I think there is a CF coming out in the future which is cool.

As the end of the day it is great to see so many Canadian companies making awesome products.

slightly OT but what nightforce SHV model is this with the exposed elevation turret?

edit: NVM it is the low magnification model, im dumb
