I will take you the Saskatchewan way, however it is a bit of a challenge.

What we need:

1 - 4x4 Pick up - I have
2 - Cases Bohemian beer(24 beer if you aren't from Sask) , this is for sunup until noon.
1 - Package of gravol(You may get sea sick in the bed of my truck, brake, gas, brake, gas type of driving when hunting) :puke:
1 - Large bore heavy hitting rifle , scope if you like, this will move you around the back of the truck a bit(more gravol may be needed)
1 - Bucket of KFC , drumsticks only, easier to hold while driving AND/OR shooting
2 - travel mugs
1 - 66 oz of Wisers(afternoon hunt)
1 - 2L Coke from the night before, opened and already flat

If we get along and I like you I will position you sideways so you roll only when I'm cornering.

If this works out we go again, down south.Ever shoot a speed goat with a 12 gauge out the window of a moving Chevy HD while smoking a 1/8 oz joint out of the corner of your mouth? :onCrack::50cal:

Oh, remember to bring you colored hat and upper body clothing as I wont supply this and your tags.

:)

This adventure sounds great.count me in.

Hit me up if you want to hunt around Stoon, I have great spots for WT, Moose and Mule (draw only). I'm always looking to hunt around PA, I go there for bear. I'll get some Pils though ##### that Bohemian swill! haha

OP, if you are willing to travel to SK all you got to do is apply to the non-resident WT draw I can definitely help you out, I have access to spots where one can easily hunt from a vehicle and see some nice SK WT.

Our local sportsmans club tried to hold an event for wheelchair bound outdoorsmen and it was headed up by an older veteran in a wheelchair. He knew a couple other fellows that he thought would be interested and we advertised and asked around between members and family and we had absolutely no interest from any mobility challenges persons. Not even from the two gentleman the vet knew.

The event was going to be a meet and great spring turkey hunt/ pond fishing weekend. Hopefully where those connections could be made.

Thought so but one never knows ...... LoL

BTW, Along both sides of the Fraser here in the Central Interior we have a high percentage of colour-phase bears. Bright cinnamon, while not common, are seen on a regular basis. Once in a great while a true blonde black bear is shot.

What are the rules about shooting these bears? I know the regs say something about certain color phases, but i don't have them on hand right now...

Edit - I'm home with the regs now, and they say its unlawful "To hunt the white or blue (glacier) colour phases of the Black Bear."

The Op and I have spoken by phone and we are going to do some shooting in the near future and some hunting after that. What a great place CGN is, you can learn all about the sport you love and even make a few life long friends!

You might be jumping the gun on the "life long" thing... one day at a time... good luck to you... hope you fellas hit it off.

Thanks Y'all

Just a little side info for y'll. I shoot Mossberg 22, 223, 270, M&P and Walther 9mm, Benelli Super Nova 12 gage 3 1/2" and a 10 Point Croxbow 180 lb pull using a crank, (oh and my sons AR 223 and his 22-250). That's at least for now as I just might sneak a few more in there when my wife not looking.
Thanks for ALL your replies, couple negative most were positive and few were very encouraging to me. Now at least I have better understanding that there are a lot of hunters (male and female) out there that do think about taking a friend who has a physical restriction of some sort out hunting with them!!
WAY TO GO GUYS AND GALLS :)

one day ill end up in on either crutches or a cane or walker long before i should be. im still not sure what ill do when that time comes. i couldnt imagine having to wheel a chair through a field to my blind or stand.

Back in the 80s my crippled uncle used a surplus Bren gun carrier to get to his spot for moose in Nippigon Ont. Where there is a will, there is a way. God I miss going for rides in that thing! It was nice to be able to load up a moose in that thing and go back to camp to butcher it.

My old man had severe arthritis in his spine. And can't walk more then 50M. I'm trying to figure out a way to get him back in the game for deer. I'm thinking of getting him in to a Argo or a ATV and driving as close to my spot as I can. He has not been able to hunt in about 20 years. I want him to bag another deer with his 30-30.

One of the side by sides with a bench seat might be just the thing. You can drive him to your spot in relative comfort.

Bren carrier! How cool is that! Would probably go almost anywhere! :)

I have a couple of disable friends that I go hunting with when I have the time and thy do alright with the shooting part but need help with the Field dressing and the retrieval part of the hunt

It could and would go anywhere. The engine was in the middle of the vehicle. The driver and gunner sat upfront, with the rest of the section in the back, sitting around the engine. There was a lot of room for 3 guys and their kit for hunting. And more then enough room for any moose or deer that were shot. As far as I know, that carrier is still up at his hunt camp. He passed away in 2001. I should ask my aunt what happened to the carrier.
