He's at it again...slowly squeezing every cent he can get out of the people of Sask. Next on the line is a big increase in camping fees, park passes and no free wood at campsites from what I was told.

Those don't seem like large increases? $10 and $5?

Hunting licences are typically really affordable in Canada. For $100-150 a year you can hunt on millions of acres in most provinces and collect hundreds, often thousands of pounds of publically accessible biomass simply by demonstrating your willingness to sit through few hours of very low level education (or not, and people complain bitterly about how onerous this is too) and spend a few dollars on licences. Furthermore, most jurisdictions give prices cuts to youth. You have access to a panoply of fishing waters for a license that is less than a good dinner out (some are even stocked for us in places).

Sorry man, I have a hard time sympathizing with the perception of financial persecution on this one.

In Ontario they now charge a $2 processing fee. Per licence. Guess what. The person who does the work (store owners) can lose money selling license and recieve non of this fee that is being charged.

Buy a whitetail, muledeer, moose , elk, bear, upland bird, trapping licence and fishing licence it all adds up pretty quick. Not to mention the cost of putting in for draws. Then you can add up the camping fees park passes that will rise significantly and sooner then later it becomes pretty expensive. Lets not forget none of this extra revenue is going to anything hunting and fishing rather then going to cover Walls billion dollar debt. On another note CO's are being forced to work one day less a week or take a minimum 3.5 wage cut and loose a lot of benefits, think these guys feel valued and are gonna do their job with excellence. I sadly suspect a sharp rise in poaching.

Oh and none of that extra revenue is going to fish and game.....its going into our 2 Billion dollar plus debt that so kindly got our province in since he took power.

I have zero issue with rate increases that go directly into wildlife and habitat investments,,but when none of that extra cash goes near those and they cut CO's time and pay in the field,,I have an issue with that and so should any other sportsman in Sask.

Than the market value.

Sounds like you miss the NDP? Think long and hard first. The only way the NDP always gets back into power is that the average voter has the memory of a goldfish.

NDP will come to power only because of Wall's arrogance. He does have a goldfish memory as he cannot remember what happened to Harper 2 years ago. Arrogance and corruption is what will bring NDP back.

Why do I sound like I miss the NDP? Because I am concerned about were my hard earned dollar goes or am concerned about the state of our fish and game???? I miss the NDP about as much as I miss you "bearkilr"

No, the same reasons I'm hearing from Manitobans. People in the bloated public service sector getting dismissed and price increases to cover overspending by previous gov't, namely NDP.

Why are you #####ing about a maximum $100 or so increase in total license fees per year? That doesn't even buy you an Axis. ;)

If you think things are bad now, vote NDP, and you'll see how bad they can actually get...............in case you guys forgot?

^^^^
Hopefully you arent a parent with children in the sask education system. Wait til you see the cuts
And decrease in spending on resources and the facilities.

If i am lucky i get a pay decrease and 9 un paid days off
If i am unlucky no job

Its not just about the increase in the hunting fees for some of us

Well if you have so much money and $100 means nothing how about give you my email address and you can send me $100 via EMT to cover the extra cost of my licences.....I mean its just $100 right....its nothing.

If an additional $100 is too high a burden for 7 hunting and 1 fishing license then a person should really should stop hunting/fishing and look for a better or a second job. Lets not pretend $100 is going to buy a person a new truck, I can't go out for a nice dinner with my wife for less the $100...

Years ago our property taxes included tacking yer chit to the dump..............no cost to unload.
Then taxes went up and so did everything else.
Then they came in with these fancy schmancy garbage/recycling bins and added a portfolio
to the cost of owning a home in the fine city.
Then shortly there after came the crap unloaded out in the bush.

Careful what you think is okay for increases as for every up there is a down.

JMHO

You think the NDP left the province in the black and the Green Party has created all this debt? Too funny. I can remember passing through SK weekly years back when it was NDP held and it was like a wasteland. Places looked so old and run down, land and property was worth nothing. It seemed like everyone drove a 25 year old vehicle. Young people in jobs was not like it is now because they left for greener pastures. Thats not the SK I see today. I can live with a few $ extra in licenses. SK has the least expensive license/draw system in Canada and even with the increase, still will. None of us likes increased prices or fees but can you imagine what the costs would be if everything went on a user fee basis so only those making use of certain services paid for them as opposed to the whole?
