what do you do while you reload?

Sometimes on a winter's day I like to put on one of those "fireplace" vids that endlessly runs...

I don't have any outside sources of distraction like tv or radio while I'm reloading. I daydream without distractions, don't need any more. .

All of this reminds me of an old Gunsmoke episode where Newly is loading cartridges with black powder in his Gunsmith Shop.

He's at the counter with a bowl of powder, and has a keg of powder open and exposed near the window, with a lit Hurricane lantern placed conveniently on the ledge above the keg.

His shop blows up of course, this being a plot device.

I suppose that if you are using a single stage press, you maybe can get away with some distractions, though I think it's a bad idea. But with a progressive press I definitely need all my focus on the task at hand.

I'm with Jethunter, my mind wanders enough without any help.

I want no distractions in my reloading room....thus no Computer, no TV, no annoying Telephones.
I might listen to reasonably quiet background music, but that is it. D.

when I'm reloading, nothing happens in my loading room except loading...door closed so no cats underfoot or TV/radio noise, even the wife quietly knocks before entering when I am reloading...most of the time I'm reloading for her and she doesn't want me to f#$% anything up on her ammo!!

Listen to the TV; pause and glance over if something interesting happens.
Drink Beer.

I don't reload because I like it; I reload because no one else makes the exact ammo I make for my guns.
It's nearly the most mind-numblingly boring activity I can think of and I can produce near 3000 rounds an hour with my setup.

My Dillons have powder sensors and other safeguards to catch me if I miss something anyway.
