Options for 30 cal 20" stainless with good factory sights?

...It's either gotta be bolt or lever for big game for me

Take a look at a Browning BLR Lighweight. 20" barrel, nimble handling and 6.5 lbs unloaded. Mine, scoped and loaded come in right at 7lbs. I don't use the iron sights but have never heard bad things about them.

That is just about enough to make the decision there!

As for the sights, if apertures aren't your thing, an xs rail with a red dot like the holosun I use adds almost no weight and keeps a nice compact profile..

Well Brad and GMC403, you guys got me.

Just picked it up this morning. I like it, fits good and feels handy as all he'll. One thing I was surprised by, the trigger guard and mag well are plastic! I figured Ruger of all companies would have gone with metal?

Ha!, I almost bought that one.

Great setup you have there, and I think you'll really enjoy how it handles. The plastic magwell kinda bugged me at first but it seems very durable and the mag release is at least metal. I switched to the plastic mags too.

There is an aftermarket alloy bottom metal available.

Ya I believe CDI has a mag well for them. I like the way the 5 rds AI mags look and feel, I had a couple from another rifle. Not sure if the 1-4 will be enough, will have to see how it does at the 300m range next week.
