Beretta M9A3

Yes, they became available around Feb of 2016, there are a few dealers that still have some, I dont think Stoger Canada imported a lot when they were first available, according to Beretta, once all the initial orders are filled everywhere then they will be available as a regular stocking item in their line up.

Oh yesss! (same model number)

They are hard to come by, even in the USA, as Beretta moved the production plant to TN and last I heard they had a backlog of 20k units.

This is like a 4 leaf clover. You can find it, but you have to look and look and look

I can confirm that it's the same model number. I found one by pure coincidence and just jumped on it. Price was insanely good too. So it was about brainer. I just got lucky that day I guess.

It's a great pistol out of the box and a real head turner. Heck everyone at my range is always intrigued by what it is and they always want to try it.

CRAFM had a used one for sale for about 1500. It even came with the sand resistant mags. I think it's still available

Unfortunately, the US Army mistakenly bought the unremarkable Sig P320. Modularity means changing calibers in the same pistol means NOTHING to SEAL teams, Green Berets, Rangers, Special Forces, etc...
As a standard weapon sidearm, the truly fine Beretta M9A3 is a very good pistol! Besides, many US elite forces want & use the venerable 1911A1 in America's favourite cartridge, 45acp.
The FBI got it right choosing the original & still the best polymer gun, bar none: Glock 17.
The US Army should have chosen the American made Beretta M9A3. Period!

What gets me is they claimed lower production costs (and I'm not just speaking to the upgrade during the trials) ... then military says no to them, and they so, oh well well, we're still going to sell it on the civilian market - kicker, price is $600 more than A1's or modern M9's. So what the hell .. I loved my 92A1, only after all the work I did on it. No way in hell I'll pay the asking price for A3 up here, totally bonkers, especially when Beretta was making all their claims, few years later and nothing has changed.

They're hard to find- I snapped one up on the EE last month because I've always been curious. It turned out it wasn't for me, so I listed it; it sold in less than 5 min, and I still had people messaging me after I updated the ad asking where I got it.

The M9A3 is a fantastic pistol right out of the box, far superior in numerous ways to the 92F or M9A1. It has a much more comfortable "Vertec" grip, Tritium night sights, a dovetailed foresight, threaded barrel, 10-degree upswept safety lever to prevent inadvertent decocking, cerakoted steel components, PVD-coated magazines, etc. Those game-changer upgrades are why the A3 costs $300 more than the 92F or the M9A1. And they are worth every penny IMHO. The M9A3 might as well be an entirely new pistol for all the difference the upgrades make to the basic M9's "shoot-ability". Try one, and if it fits your hand I'll bet you will like it very much!

I'm not sure if it has the short reach trigger, but given the grip angle change and slimmer bevelled mag well and D-spring out of the box, I imagin it's great out of the box.

My Beretta 92A1 was the most accurate, smooth, straight shooting pistol I've ever had - after the work I did on it. And now the rails are true 1913 pic rails instead of the Italian standard (on Beretta Italy models), more accessories will work as expected.

I still think they are overpriced.

No, it doesn't have the short reach trigger. For me personally Vertec + short reach trigger puts the trigger break point too far back and my index finger plain hurts after a little bit.

Well, it is a tough one to find. So far, no joy in trying to locate one.

It's only been a few days of searching:) I had a wtb for 6 months looking for a CZ52. Did you try a wtb ad? If I had some extra cash I would be looking for one as well, my M9A1 is my fav pistol.

You too? I thought it was just me. Fortunately I have the original trigger still and am going to have it installed. With the SRT the reset is unbelievably short. That said, the break is really way to far back for my liking. I also don't get much benefit from an extremely short reset...I just don't have the reflexes or talent to take advantage of how short the reset is. I am really quite impressed with the 92A1 both from an accuracy standpoint and how the gun reacts in your hand under recoil. The fixed barrel helps. While large the gun only weighs 33 ounces which is over a pound lighter than the Shadow2. With the open slide design the gun is almost impossible to jam. I also like the grip, for me it rivals the CZ/Tanfoglio grip n my hands.

I don't understand why the M9A3 would warrant a $250 Premium over the 92A1 but if it sells at that price....

Take Care

Bob
